Himalayan Pharmacy Institute (HPI) is a higher education institution conducting courses in Pharmacy at undergraduate and post graduate level. The institute was established in the year 1990 and is located in the town of Rangpo (East Sikkim). It is affiliated Sikkim University and approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

The courses offered by Himalayan Pharmacy Institute include Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm), Bachelors in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and Masters in Pharmacy (M.Pharm). The institute also offers admission in Ph.D. program.

  • Admissions to D.Pharm shall be allotted in order of merit as per marks secured in 10+2 examination.
  • The minimum eligibility for D.Pharm is 10+2 examination with PCM/PCB from any recognized board.
  • For admission to B.Pharm, candidates’ 10+2 merit and performance in the entrance test conducted by the college shall be taken into consideration.
  • For B.Pharm, candidate must pass 10+2 examination in Science stream with minimum 45% marks in PCM/PCB from a recognized board.
  • Direct admission in second year of B.Pharm are also offered on merit basis to candidates holding D.Pharm from a PCI recognized institution.
  • Candidates seeking admission to M.Pharm must have qualified GPAT exam and must have obtained B.Pharm degree from an institute recognized by PCI.
  • The applications form along with prospectus can be had from the Institute’s office during working hours or else can be downloaded from the official website.
  • An application processing fee shall have to be paid in cash or through Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Himalayan Pharmacy Institute” payable at SBI, Majhitar.
  • Interested candidates can pursue Ph.D. degree in Pharmacy.
  • To be eligible in Ph.D., candidates need to appear in entrance exam conducted by the Sikkim University, followed by selection through personal interview.
  • Candidates must have a master’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized University and score minimum 55% marks in aggregate.
  • Application shall be accepted through Online Admission Portal of Sikkim University.

Himalayan Pharmacy Institute UG Admission 2023

The institute runs courses in D.Pharm and B.Pharm at UG level. D.Pharm is a two-year course affiliated to EADP, the State Board of Sikkim and approved by the PCI with a total intake of 60 students. B.Pharm is a four-year course with approved intake of 100 students. The course is approved by PCI and AICTE.

The candidates seeking admission to D.Pharm shall be selected through merit as per marks secured in PCM/PCB group in 10+2 examination.

The minimum eligibility for B.Pharm is 10+2 examination in science stream with minimum 45% marks with PCB/PCM subject combination. In case of admission to B.Pharm, candidates shall be selected through merit of qualifying examination and marks obtained in entrance test conducted by the Institute.

Himalayan Pharmacy Institute PG Admission 2023

M.Pharm offered by the institute is a full time two-year course offered in four specialisations. The selection of candidates shall be affected on the basis of GPAT scores.

The minimum eligibility for M.Pharm is candidate must pass B.Pharm examination with minimum 60% marks from any University/ Institute recognized by AICTE/ PCI.

Himalayan Pharmacy Institute Ph.D Admission 2023

At research level, the institute offers full-time degree in Ph.D. in Pharmacy. The eligibility norms and selection process have been established as per the norms of Sikkim University. Applications from eligible candidates shall be invited through Online Admission Portal of the University. Candidate must have passed M.Pharm with minimum 55% marks to fulfil eligibility criteria.

The Prospectus along with application form can be collected by either collecting from the institute office or by sending DD by post.

  • The application form can be attained from the college on payment of application fees in person on working days.
  • Applicants may even remit the application by sending Demand Draft by post drawn in favour of “Himalayan Pharmacy Institute” payable at SBI, Majhitar Branch (IFS Code: SBIN0009034).

Documents required:

The application form should be accompanied with the following documents:

  • Original and photocopies of mark sheets and certificates of all examinations passed.
  • Copy of Birth Certificate.
  • Migration Certificate ( Students passing from Sikkim university need not submit Migration Certificate)
  • University registration certificate for the Sikkim University candidates.
  • Three copies of passport size photographs.
  • Caste certificate for ST/ SC/OBC candidates, if any.
  • School/College leaving certificate.
  • Affidavit to be typed in Non-Judicial stamp paper.

For Ph.D.:

  • An applicant shall fill up the admission form online by remitting an application fee via online payment gateway or bank challan at any branch of State Bank of India.
  • Application Fees: INR 700 for General and INR 350 for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates
