B.Com Business Administration Admission

Eligibility

Basically different colleges have set different eligibility criterias for students to get admission in B.Com program. The government colleges and private colleges both have some different set of eligibility criterias. But, there are some common eligibility criterias too. The common eligibility criterias to get admission in B.Com program are as follows -

  • The candidates must have completed 12th or equivalent course from a recognised board. 
  • Primarily and specially in most of the government colleges, students are given admission to B.Com program based on merit, i.e. the marks scored in the last qualifying examination. The cut off mark can vary enormously. In the government colleges of Delhi, which come under the jurisdiction of Delhi University, the cut off marks for admission in B.Com program can be as high as 99%. On the other hand, in some colleges the cut off mark can go down to minimum 45%. 
  • Students with enough marks in the last qualifying examinations can always choose to do B.Com irrespective of his/her previous stream. But, the students who belonged to commerce stream in 12th can be given preference over students who belonged to Science and Arts stream previously. This depends completely upon the college authority. 
  • Some private as well as government colleges conduct entrance examinations for admission in the B.Com program. The students who qualify in these entrance exams are selected for admission in the B.Com program.

B.Com entrance examinations

BHU UET - BHU UET is a national level entrance examination organised by the Banaras Hindu University, Uttar Pradesh to admit students in its various UG and PG programs. BHU UET is conducted also to admit students in the B.Com program offered by the Banaras Hindu University. To get admission in the B.Com program offered by the university, yearly many students appear in this BHU UET examination. 

IPU CET - IPU CET is a Common Entrance Test conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. IPU CET is conducted also to admit students in the B.Com program offered by the Guru Gobind Indraprastha University. To get admission in the B.Com program offered by the university, yearly many students appear in this IPU CET examination. 

NMIMS NPAT - NMIMS is a national level Entrance Test conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. NMIMS NPAT is conducted also to admit students in the B.Com program offered by the NMIMS. To get admission in the B.Com program offered by the university, yearly many students appear in this INPAT examination.

UPES - UPES conducts national level entrance examinations to admit students in various UG/ PG programs offered by the university. B.Com Entrance Examinations Preparation Tips

  • All the questions are going to be related to commerce subjects of class 11th and 12th. So, students should go through the books very attentively to be able to crack the entrance examinations. 
  • The subjects on which the entrance examinations will be based are Accountancy, Business Studies, Maths, Basic Computer Questioning, Verbal and Logical Reasoning and Current Affairs. 
  • The questions in the entrance examinations will be of MCQ type and each wrong answer will carry negative marking. So, students should not answer any question if they are not completely confident about it.
