BSc Biotechnology Admission 2023 in India is mostly done through merit i.e based on the scores obtained by a candidate in 10+2. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission into the BSc Biotechnology program have been discussed below:

  • Aspirants seeking admission to BSc Biotechnology are required to have passed 10th and 10+2 with Physics, Biology, and Chemistry as core subjects, with minmum 50% overall (45% for SC/ST candidates), and 60% in each core subject. Both PCM & PCB candidates are eligible to apply.
  • In some cases candidates need to pass entrance exams such as CUET, KIITEE, SAAT, etc.
  • The Entrance is usually at a University or College level.

Biotech at an Indian college is having passed 10th and 12th with Physics, Biology/Maths and Chemistry as core subjects, and at least 50% overall (45% for SC, ST) and 60% in each of the core subjects in the 12th boards. Both PCM and PCB candidates can opt for BSc. Biotech. Given that the eligibility criteria demands at least 50% in the 12th boards, it might not be possible for you to seek admission into BSc. Biotechnology at an Indian college. But I would advise you to go through the eligibility criteria of some of the private colleges by visiting their official website. Read more
