MPhil Admission 2023
MPhil admission 2023 to the top colleges and universities are done through the various entrance exams conducted by the national authorities or the individual universities. The admission to most of the private universities are done on the basis of merit list. The entrance exams are generally conducted during the month of May and June, however owing to the second wave of covid-19 pandemic, most of them had been put on hold. Types of MPhil
Even as the NEP 2020 has proposed to phase out the MPhil degree, the course still remains popular amongst the candidates who want to pursue research courses after the completion of the postgraduate course. The course can be pursued either as a full time course or as distance or part time correspondence course by the working professionals.
Full Time MPhil
- A full time MPhil is a two year course research course that is pursued by the candidates after the completion of their post graduate degree.
- The basic eligibility criteria for full time Mphil course is that the candidates must secure at least 55% marks in the post graduation level from any recognised university. Candidates from the reserved categories are provided a relaxation of 5%.
- The top colleges provide admissions on the basis of entrance examinations such as GATE, BHU RET, CUCET,etc. Colleges such as Amity University, Shobhit University, etc offer merit-based admissions.
- The course fee ranges between INR 30,000 -1 LPA.
- The Average salary ranges between INR 5-6 LPA.
Distance MPhil
- The Duration of distance MPhi course is generally 2 years. In some cases the duration of the MPhil Courses can be extended by one year after the payment of penalty.
- Women candidates with more than 40% disabilities are offered a grace period of 1 year to complete their degree.

The BR Ambedkar Open University offers a total of 11 MPhil program across four departments that includes Faculty of Arts, Commerce, Education and Social Science. The program is approved by the UGC and the thesis submitted at the end of the MPhil Course would be submitted to the UGC’s INFLIBNET.
- Candidates who have scored 55% marks in their master level are eligible to appear for the entrance test conducted by the university.
