MSc Entomology: Admission Process 

The admission process for Master of Science in Entomology varies from institute to institute. While some institutes like Amity University and Lovely Professional University accept aspiring graduates based on their marks obtained in their under-graduation degree whereas others like Banaras Hindu University and Andhra University conduct their own entrance exams for admission to this program. The general guidelines to follow while applying for the entrance based examination is as follows:

How to apply? 

• Registration: The first step is the registration by the candidate. Various universities announce their registration dates prior to their entrance exams on their website. The candidate has to login on these websites with their credentials.
• Filling of the information: The candidate has to fill up his/her information such as name, age, qualification, etc. The details should be accurate as filling of wrong information can lead to disqualification or rejection of the application.
• Document Submission: The next step is the submission of documents. The candidate is asked to submit his/her documents for validation. The documents to be submitted are identification proof such as Aadhar card or Pan Card, mark sheets of class Xth, XIIth and graduation etc.
• Submission of fee: The next step is the submission of fee. Various methods like Paytm, Net Banking, etc are offered by the institutes for this process.
• Admit Card Downloading: Admit Cards are issued by the testing authority and are released a few days before the exam. Candidates are required to download it and present it on the day of the examination for identification.
• Examination: Candidate should prepare very well according to the prescribed syllabus for the examination and should appear on time for it on the announced date.
• Results: Result of the examination is announced after a couple of weeks from the exam day. If the candidate gets selected then they should move further with the admission process.
• Admissions: Once the candidate qualifies for the program, he/she should then approach the college for further admission process.

MSc Entomology: Eligibility Criteria 

Although the eligibility criteria differ from university to university still the minimum qualification that a candidate aspiring to opt for Master of Science in Entomology should fulfill is as follows:

• Graduation or any other such equivalent course in a relevant discipline, completed from any recognized university.
• Graduation needs to have been completed in any of the following streams:
• Science ( Botany / Life Sciences / Medical Laboratory Technology /zoology/ Microbiology / Biochemistry)
• V. Sc.
• MBBS
• E./ B.Tech. (Biotechnology)
• Tech. (Agricultural Biotechnology).
• A minimum aggregate score of fifty percent (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the level of graduation.
• Aspiring candidates in their last year of graduation are also eligible for the course on provisional basis.

MSc Entomology: Entrance Exams

A lot of universities conduct entrance exams for admission to this course such as the Banaras Hindu University and Andhra University. Some of these entrance exams are listed below:

• BHU PET: Banaras Hindu University conducts the Banaras Hindu University Post graduation Entrance Test (BHU PET) entrance examination for candidates aspiring to pursue a career in fields of arts, science, fashion, music, Sanskrit, and various other language courses, under Banaras Hindu University every year. It is a two hour offline mode exam conducted once a year. The exam comprises Multiple Choice Questions of a total of 360 marks. The exam also has negative marking applicable with an award of three marks for one correct answer and a negative for wrong one.
• AUCET: Conducted by Andhra University, AUCET is a state level entrance exam that allows students to enroll for admission in postgraduate courses which are offered under the streams of Science, Commerce, Humanities, Management, Teaching and Journalism and Mass Communication. It is a ninety minute offline exam conducted once a year. There is no negative marking in this exam.
