Bachelor of Arts [B.A] (Anglophone Studies)
Field of Study:
- The course covers the English language as well as the cultures and literature of English-speaking regions. The qualification goal of the course is, therefore, to impart sound knowledge in these areas.
- The possibility of specializing in the regional focal points "Great Britain", "USA" or "other Anglophone regions" should, in addition to the well-founded basic knowledge in the above areas, enable a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the language and culture of an Anglophone region.
- The course is also offered as a part-time course (5 years or 10 semesters).

Tuition Fees
There are no tuition fees at the University of Duisburg-Essen. All students are, however, subject to a student body and social contribution fee per semester.
The social and student body contribution for the summer and winter semesters 2021 amounts to a total of $774.86.
The amount is made up as follows:
- Mobility contribution (ticket): $506.82, of which $367.88 for the VRR semester ticket and $138.94 for the NRW ticket
- Social contribution for the Studierendenwerk: $229.96
- Student body fee: $38.08.
The social and student body contribution is not to be paid before enrollment! Students will be informed about the payment modalities upon registration.

- Those who have qualified in vocational training also have access. The regulations governing university access for those qualified in vocational training at the University of Duisburg-Essen
Indian Eligibility:
Indians students are eligible to apply if they meet the following requirements:
- Citizens of a country outside the EU with a foreign university entrance qualification must pass the "German language test for university entrance" (DSH 2 level) or the TestDaF (TDN 4) before starting their studies.
- Applicants must have sufficient language skills (very good knowledge of English) in order to be able to follow the events in English. The knowledge must correspond to competency level B2 of the CEFR.
International students hailing from non-English speaking countries can prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
