- Nanosciences are one of the largest research focuses at the University of Hamburg and are also among the most important research centers in international comparison.
- The nanosciences deal with the production, investigation, and application of functional structures and dimensions below about 100 nanometers (one nanometer corresponds to one-millionth of a millimeter).
- In these size ranges, the properties of nanomaterials lead to innovative applications, for example in the areas of health, mobility, and energy.
- The interdisciplinary bachelor's degree is jointly organized by the departments of chemistry, computer science, and physics.
