- The Master’s degree programme in Anthropology provides students with a theoretically- and empirically-based education in anthropology, a subject that, in our globalised world, plays a special role as a comparative study of human cultures that differ in both their manner of living and of thinking.
- The objective of the Master’s degree programme is the advanced study of cultural processes and dynamics in a globally-connected world. The programme enables students to recognise and evaluate local, national, and transnational cultural processes and their interconnections with forms of social, political, and economic inequality, as well as disruptions and conflicts occurring within various regional contexts.
- The programme focusses on the regions of South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania, but includes other regions and western societies as well. The Master's degree programme provides students with the opportunity to obtain more in-depth theoretical, methodological, and regional knowledge.
- The degree programme provides students with the skills needed to independently conduct scientific research, carry out academic work, and solve problems, as well as to perform sound analysis of political, economic, cultural, and general societal issues. Graduates will be equipped to seek jobs in careers that require the ability to work extremely independently or to pursue a doctoral degree.
