Founded in 1973, Carl von Ossietzky University aims at finding answers to the modern-day problems with effective and efficient research and development of human resources. The university cooperates and closely works with 200 other universities preparing over 15,000 students for professional life. The university is among the youngest universities in Germany.

Students can discover the many cultural and recreational activities offered by the University and the City of Oldenburg or get involved in other ways. The theatres, museums, libraries, art associations etc. are there to offer at the University of Oldenburg.
The campus of Carl Von Ossietsky has plenty of opportunities to stay fit and engage in sport activities like swimming, skating, belly dancing or playing Jokeiba.
