University of Potsdam Admission Checklist
Applicants who have completed school-leaving qualification outside Germany will have to obtain recognition as certification to study in the federal state of Brandenburg either by submitting their documents to the Education Authority of Cottbus or uni-assist e.V. Additionally, international students are expected to demonstrate a good level of German language skills.

Germany Visa Process for International Students
International students will need to apply for a German student visa at the German Embassy or Consulate. The following documents must be arranged for getting German visa:
- Two duly completed national visa application forms
- Valid national passport
- Two recently taken biometric portrait photographs
- Proof of Admission to a program at the University of Potsdam
- Authenticated certificate of early education
- Proof of Financial Support
- Bank Statement
- Letter of Recommendation, or Sponsor letter
- Proof of having paid the visa application fee which is 60 EUR
- Proof of German language proficiency

University of Potsdam Undergraduate Admissions

- A PDF format form will be generated after the submission of the form which needs to be signed and uploaded.

Once the uni-assist receives an application and forwards it to the University of Potsdam, applicants are notified regarding the same. On receiving the application from uni-assist, the University forwards it to the respective program department for further processing. Students are notified by mail once the entire process is complete. To check the status of the application after it has been forwarded to the university, students are supposed to contact the person responsible for the degree program they have applied for. Admission decisions for programs with free admission are sent on an ongoing basis while admission decisions for restricted admission programs are sent no earlier than 4 weeks before the application deadline.
