MEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the National University of Ireland is offered as a 9-months program by the College of Science and Engineering.
This university is ranked #238 in the world as per QS World University 2021.
It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis only.
The MEng has three primary elements: (i) advanced core modules in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, (ii) an individual capstone project, and (iii) modules on transferrable skills and personal development.
The core Electrical and Electronic Engineering 5-credit advanced technical modules will be in topics covered by our research priorities of:
- Embedded Systems Design
- Signal Processing & Communications
- Power Electronics & Energy Conversion
- Biomedical, Biometrics and Bio-inspired Electronics
Since 2013, the ME degree has been required to satisfy the educational requirements for progression to Chartered Engineer status.
Graduates of the program will be capable of working in any branch of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, including consultancy and contracting.
As a program that is targeted for accreditation, it will have international recognition at Level 9 through the Washington Accord.
This program is offered within the new €40m Engineering Building, a 14,200 square meter, modern, energy-efficient facility, and the largest School of Engineering in the country.
The building is equipped with an extensive range of high-tech electrical and electronic engineering laboratory facilities which have been designed for teaching and research.
The program will be delivered by staff members who are world leaders in terms of research and industry interaction in the areas of power electronics, biomedical electronics, and signal processing.
The MEng program consists of 60 credits.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
A GPA of at least 3.6/4.0 is required to be eligible for the program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must complete an undergraduate degree with first-class in a relevant field from a highly ranked university in India.
Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
