The goal of this programme is to produce workforce/human resource in the field of Big Data Analytics who are capable of making decisions based on the availability of comprehensive data. Therefore, the objective of this programme is to produce graduates who:
- have a deep understanding of the core concepts, practices and tools in the domain of Data Science and Analytics.
- have the knowledge and skills in collecting and consolidating data, data modelling and advanced analysis of data which can be applied in jobs across various sectors, especially the service, business, marketing, manufacturing and healthcare sectors.
- can act as high-power data (open source or industry standards) users in a variety of industries as well as have social, ethical and effective communication skills, and good leadership attributes.
- are innovative in the application and use of big data analytic tools in various fields or as researchers who are capable of making decisions based on the availability of comprehensive data as well as able to realise lifelong learning and pursue studies at a higher level in cross-disciplinary research involving ICT.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
A.Bachelor's degree:
- CGPA of at least 2.75 / 4.00; or
- CGPA between 2.50 - 2.74 with the following additional conditions: or
- Research experience for at least one year; or
- Work experience in related field for at least one year; or
- At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
- Grade B for major / elective courses; or
- Grade B+ for final year project
- CGPA between 2.00 - 2.49 (Bachelor's Degree with Honours) with the following additional conditions: or
- Research experience for at least five (5) years; or
- Work experience in related field for at least five (5) years; AND
- At least one (1) academic publication in the relevant field; or
- Grade B for major / elective courses; or
- Grade B+ for final year project
B. APEL A (Level 7)
For International Students:
English language requirement –
- A minimum score of 35 in Internet-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or
- A minimum of Band 5 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System); or
- A minimum score of 154 in Cambridge English Advance (CAE); or
- A minimum score of 154 in Cambridge Proficiency Advance (CPE); or
- A minimum score of 36 in Pearson Test of English (PTE); or
- A minimum of Band 2 in MUET (Malaysian University English Test)
VISA & Work Study
VISA
Currently, the Immigration Department of Malaysia requires students from certain nationalities to apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) from the authorised Malaysian Embassy in the students’ home country. In order to do so, students are required to obtain a Visa with Reference (VWR) letter prior to their visit to the Malaysian Embassy. There are also nationalities who may directly enter Malaysia without a Single Entry Visa but are required to have the Visa Approval Letter (VAL). (Refer to the Visa Application Procedures below).
Applicants need to apply for the eVAL (e-Visa Approval Letter) via the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) online application website: https://educationmalaysia.gov.my 3 months before making arrangement to travel to Malaysia or for registration.
