This research-based program is recognized by the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS).
Becoming an audiologist involves the completion of the two-year master's program, followed by one further year of supervised clinical practice, leading to a Certificate of Clinical Competence provided by the NZAS. This is normally undertaken while employed in an audiology clinic.
Facilities such as the University's Hearing and Tinnitus Clinic and The Oticon Foundation Hearing Education Centre provide excellent opportunities for clinical training and continuing education for practicing audiologists.
Program Structure:
This is a 240 point research-based program that consists of two parts:
Part I
- Core courses in auditory neuroscience, diagnostic audiology, clinical otolaryngology, and hearing aids for the impaired (120 points)
Part II
- Clinical practicum with emphasis on pediatric audiology (30 points)
- Completion of a thesis (90 points)
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- A Grade Point Equivalent (GPE) of 5.0 is required.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a bachelor’s (3 years) degree.
- Or, completed a bachelor’s degree requiring 4-years of study from arecognized university.
Submission of IELTS scores is compulsory for this program, however, students may submit a PTE score too instead of that.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

- Transcript: Students must submit the official marks statements or transcripts that are provided by the college.
- Certificates: Certificates like High School or University/College Certificates are to be submitted of education qualification.
- Resume/CV: Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and volunteer experience.
- Test Results: Provide proof of English proficiency, if English is not the first language in students country, as proof of IELTS/TOEFL result scores is to be submitted.
