Being an Assistant Professor, what are your responsibilities towards the students?

"To teach them in the best possible way and assisting them to apply that knowledge in projects"

Being an Assistant Professor, my responsibility is to impart good quality education to students using different teaching techniques and becoming their mentor at every path, help them to apply the studied knowledge in real time projects and offer GSP mentorship to them, and lastly enhance their overall personality by involving them in extracurricular activities.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

"By being a good listener for them through an open and respectful communication forum"

I strongly believe that student-faculty relationships are the most crucial connection within a collegiate community. So being the Assistant Professor of my college, I act as a bridge between students and management and have to solve students' academic doubts on time to help them understand a concept in more depth and detail, and have to guide and give them the right direction to make their dreams come true. It is totally true that when students feel connected to the campus community, they excel academically and create a winning situation for everyone. And I also maintain a very respectful and friendly relationship with my fellow colleagues by being a good listener and we all work as a team to fulfill our goals. All this helps me to have a cordial relationship with both my students and colleagues.

How do you introduce a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

"By assigning research projects to students and conducting professional visits for them"

To enforce a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects, we keep motivating our students to participate in different research based activities and projects to help them enhance their knowledge. We also use case studies and videos as examples while teaching them. And if required, industrial visits too are conducted on a regular basis to make them aware about how processes and people work together in a corporate world.

Which best practices are offered by the department to students to help them gain necessary skills?

"Finest trainings, career development programs and communication ambiance is given to them"

We have established a Career Development Cell to train our students, groom their overall personality and make them confident to face the outer world with much more strength. Another responsibility of this cell is to build good industry connections to bring better opportunities for students. We also practice experiential learning, use power-point presentations to help them organize their thinking process and build professional skills, using audio-visual aides. In addition to this, we conduct guest lectures and invite industry experts to share their experiences and expectations with us. Lastly, we have given an open and transparent communication environment and constructive feedback system to students to address their problems and academic queries on time.

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

"We keep our curriculum as dynamic as possible to incorporate latest industrial demands"

The curriculum of our college is not static, but very dynamic in nature as we keep regularly updating it in line with latest industry trends, development and requirements. We bring in best practices to give relevant industry exposure to the students.

What are your views upon the placements and higher education of students from your department?

"We offer 100% placement assistance to students in addition to support for higher education"

Our institute has established CDC and HEC cells for overall grooming of students and to help them to become awesome future bio technocrats. Today's higher education not only gives students degrees only but many more top studies courses are available that are specifically designed to offer particular skills to students. And we give our guidance and full support to our students about scope and application process to enroll in Masters.

How do you prepare your students to cope up with this competitive world?

"By providing them required guidance and encouraging them to believe in themselves"

We believe that every student is unique, has different strengths and goals, hence our approach is generally to first recognise their strengths and give them appropriate guidance to set short and long term goals for themselves, to support, educate and train them to convert their weaknesses into strengths.

Which extracurricular activities are organized in college to enhance the skills of students?

"Activities related to acting and drama, music and debate competition are organized by us"

Our institute has a separate department for the purpose of organizing co-curricular activities to enhance students skills and make them more confident. What challenges are you facing to uplift the education of your department?

"We are offering biotechnology education which should ideally be taught to students in schools"

At the institute level, we believe that we are providing quality education to our students but it would be suggested if biotechnology as a subject will be introduced at school level only.
