What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education?
“Lack of employment-linked modules in courses, and correct channels for linkage between academics & industry”
Today we are in the era of a knowledge-based economy, and the center-stage of change. The 4 major challenges are:
- Industry Linkages: insufficient levels of meaningful industry participation in aspects like curriculum development, research, and faculty exchange programs.
- Employability: Present Indian education system is not aligned to the skill and manpower needs of the market. Skills shortage across sectors is prevalent.
- Research and Innovation: There is inadequate focus on research in higher education institutes.
- Philanthropic nature: The “not for profit” tag associated with any higher education sector has been a major roadblock preventing private/foreign investment.
How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your university?
“We support a common goal of doing the hard work to achieve the collective goal of success”
I keep motivating my students and faculty to aim big, and maintain a pleasant relationship with everyone. Any institute requires a peaceful environment, and it is my prima facie responsibility to create and provide the same to my student, faculty, and staff.
