What is the rate of admissions in your college? Has it increased from the last year?

“The admission rate has dipped but we are taking measures to improve it”

Admission in our college is also affected due to pandemic. The average enrolment rate in the Institute in B.Tech. in 2018-19 was 65.0%, and in Diploma it was more than 100%. In 2019-20 there was a downtrend in admission in both B.Tech. and Diploma due to some decision of Bihar Government. But the institute is taking a number of measures such as (a) NBA Accreditation, (b) Improvement in placement activities, (c) Improvement in student’s performance, to help improve the admission process.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to the real-world challenges?

“Students take part in different curricular activities to enhance their skills”

  • The different departments organize workshops on Robotics, Python, CAD, etc. Our Students participate in large numbers and demonstrate their capability in making working models.
  • Students take part in different programs organized by our NSS and Unnat Bharat Teams. Tree plantation, imparting training to village women on Mushroom cultivation and many more activities. Annual sports and cultural activities, alumni meet, farewell functions for outgoing students, etc. are organized, allowing students for public speaking, developing hidden talents, etc.

What are the placement statistics of your college?

“There is a significant dip in the employment pertaining to the current scenario”

We have identified this as an area of concern and the institute has employed experienced student counsellor for bringing improvement. To increase the employability of students, we have also signed MoU with CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), which is helping to improve the Institution-Industry Interaction. The present trend is very encouraging.

Though there is no significant change in the number of employments in B.Tech. but there is about a 60% increase in placement in Diploma during 2017-18 to 2018-19.

Out of all the eligible students, in Diploma, placement is about 100% but in B.Tech. placement needs improvement. Our T&P Department is trying hard to help out students to secure good jobs.

What has been your avg. package offered to the students? Please tell us about the highest package offered to the students as well?

“The average and highest package has marginally increased”

  • The average package for B.Tech. students was precisely Rs.2.6 Lacs/year in 2018-19 and same improved to about Rs.5.3 Lacs /year in 2019-20. However, in case of Diploma, the average package remained about Rs.1.5 Lacs/year.
  • The highest package for B.Tech. was Rs.7.08 Lacs/years and for Diploma Rs.3 Lacs/year.

How does the curriculum of RTC Institute of Technology ensure the best practice of industry?

“We make sure the students are given industrial exposure”

RTCIT is affiliated to Jharkhand University of Technology and Ranchi University. Thus, it has to follow the University syllabus. However, the Institute always supplements students’ knowledge through Co-Curricular activities like Guest Lectures, Industrial Visits, Trainings, etc. With the right set of people in the management, we are trying our best to onboard as many Institutions as we can for the mutual benefit of the students. Also, we have already signed a couple of MoUs with organisations like CII for their industry expertise.

With the competition so high, how do you guide your students to survive in such a competitive scenario?

“We encourage students to trace their own path to success”

The survival of the fittest must be the truth. Our students have to acquire knowledge, skill and attitude to become the most qualified. Institute is committed to providing the necessary support. As they say “Survival of the fittest” we make sure that our students follow through different paths and doorways in their time at RTCIT so that when they get to face the real-world scenarios, they must not be bewildered to look at the gap which they need to cover.
