What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?
“To make students aware about current industry practices”
Well, my first responsibility towards students is to make them aware of the current practices of industry and corporations. I try to show them the right direction and right magnitude which is required to achieve the same standards. Industries prefer candidates who have done their homework well before coming to them. Secondly; we, at our college, ensure that everyone is developed holistically and has a high employment quotient.
How does the curriculum of college ensure the best practice of industry?
“Providing Students with best-practice industry skills regularly”
Well in such a case we make sure that eminent personalities from industries and corporate houses come to our institute periodically to deliver an expert lecture on the subject matter. We have in-house as well as external training and workshops which help a student to understand the subject practically.
What are the best practices offered by the department to the students?
“Providing students with the necessary skill enhancement programs regularly”
Some best practices are as follows:
- Strategic delivery of the content/curriculum.
- Regular practical sessions.
- Regular workshops/seminars/conferences.
- Guest lectures.
- PD classes
- Mock interviews
- Inhouse-Internships
What are your views upon the placements and higher education for the students of your institute?
“We encourage students both for placements and higher education depending on their interests”
In my opinion, students of our institute from the very second year are getting internship offers from several industries and corporate houses of national and international repute which substantiates the fact that the studies and holistic development are well taken care of by the institute. For placements, specifically of this year, several students have made it to MNC(s) like Akums, Macleods, Intas to name a few. We are striving towards excellence to ensure that students get placement at the starting of the final year itself.
As far as higher education is concerned, the content delivery, practicals, and workshops held in our institute make sure that the students who wish to continue higher education can go for it feasibly.
How do you help your student to cope up with the competition?
“Encouraging Students to develop their skills by joining skill enhancement programs”
Well, everyone has to settle themselves in the market by being proactive, ingenuine, and quick-learner. In our institute, we inculcate all these qualities in students from the very first day which is substantiated by the fact that student has his/her resume, in hand, on day 01 and from 02nd year onwards a student is joining corporate houses/MNC(s) and NGO(s) an intern. The internships often convert to PPO or Pre-Placement Offer.

Do you have any extracurricular activities to expose students to real-world challenges?
“We have a Corporate Resource Center that offers students with skill enhancement programs”
Yes, we do have. We have a well-developed Corporate Resource Center which offers in-house internships. In this; the student faces the real challenges of day-to-day activities of the HR department and the placement department. Apart from this we have 5 clubs as well named Spandan, Shrishti, Srajan, Shiksha, and Sanskriti to promote overall wellbeing and to enhance the team-leading skills of the students. They deal with different activities like ecology, sports, academics, etc.
Apart from this, our students are offered summer internship offers from the institutes/organizations/corporates with whom we have MOU(s). In internships, a student faces real-world challenges and this prepares him for a blissful future.
What are the challenges you are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?
“The biggest challenge is to keep students updated regularly about the ongoing changes”
Well, in my opinion, if we talk specifically about pharmacy education, it is witnessing a drastic-changes. With the advent of more and more sophisticated technologies, conventional dosage forms and therapeutics are becoming obsolete. They are being largely replaced by technology-driven targeted dosage forms. Even the technology of dosage form development and testing is getting a big update and all the development and approval is happening on short notice. Both the students and mentors are trying hard to adapt to and to learn new technologies for the welfare of mankind
What was your vision for college from the start and how are you trying to achieve the same?
“To establish the college as a center of excellence for research and development”
Following are my missions and visions from the very first day I joined this institute as head:
- To establish the college as a center for pharmacovigilance training.
- To ensure holistic development of all the stakeholders and ensure the well-being of all the employees.
- To ensure that all the students should have a high employment quotient.
- To sign more MOUs with industries of repute.
- To sign MOU with foreign industries and exchange know-how for the technologies which are not available in India.
- To continuously strive for excellence (for all implied and obligatory requirements).
We have raised teams for the same to ensure that aims and visions are achieved.

What do you see as the department’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?
“Industrial-Academia collaboration and Technical Training are the greatest strengths”
Department’s greatest strength includes:
- Excellent education delivery.
- Industrial-Academia collaboration
- Soft skills training.
- Technical training.
- Placement support
- Equal employment opportunity to all deserving candidates.
Although at every step, due diligence is exercised by us to ensure that students always get to learn the latest trends. In any case, if the failure happens, CAPA is instituted by us so that we should learn from our mistakes and strive for continuous improvement.
What advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?
“Students should keep themselves updated according to the changing demands of Industry”
Students must remember that corporations are looking for candidates who have a perfect blend of technical knowledge in distinguished concentration that too with high emotional intelligence. Many people who are good at hard skills sometimes fail to achieve employment just because they lack expressiveness. I would like to suggest the aspirants that always look for your holistic/all-around development. Never ignore the importance of soft skills development. Ensure that your technical skills and soft skills get polished periodically. Last but not the least, our college is a hub for all such activities and if the aspirant wishes to join a journey to success with us then they are most welcome to do so.
