What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Getting them ready for the outside world”

As a teacher by profession, I always take care of my students and empower them in the best possible ways. As a faculty, I always incorporate new and innovative ways of teaching for my students, so that students can prepare themselves for the competition out there at corporate.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“Uniting everyone for a collaborative approach”

Maintaining a healthy relationship with students and fellow faculties are important. This is not only for our Institute but also for every other organization. This is an important factor that helps us to be motivated and work towards a common goal. Teaching is considered a two-way process thus I always try to learn from my students too. I am not only teaching my students in the classroom but also mentoring and nurturing them.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

“Giving a platform to make use of the concepts learned theoretically”

Practical approach towards subjects can be achieved by discussing. We at CMIT give a lot of importance on case studies discussion at class. On-job training and SIP is also a very crucial thing when it comes to understanding the practicality and the concept of the subject.

What are your views upon the placements and higher education about the students from your department?

“Students should be guided according to their interests and what will benefit them”

Placement is a motivating factor for any professional course. Before placement, proper counselling is important. It helps the students know better about their goals, be it higher education or job. Placement at CIMT is good. A decent number of companies visit our campus every year for the students. After BBA, students from our institute go for MBA so we help the students prepare for the concerned entrance exams.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?

“I expose them to the work culture that they will be working with”

I always ensure that classroom learning is the best in class. Before diving into the theoretical aspects, I make sure to explain to them the importance of studying a particular subject. The students are given assignments related to the concepts and a chance to apply the same. We organize a frequent mock interview for them and also organize webinars and seminars conducted by an industry professional. Students are asked to work with the professionals as much as possible so that they can inherit the corporate work culture.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

“Polishing their skills by giving them responsibilities”

We arrange seminars, workshops, cultural events and other various events at our campus. We give full responsibilities to our students to manage and organize these events, and ask to bring sponsorship for the events. As they will be prepared to become leading managers of tomorrow, they are given the responsibility of managing the events at CMIT.

When you came to college, what was your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?

“Breaking free from the conventional and traditional notions of learning”

When I came to CMIT, my vision was to improve the quality of education. I set on a journey of pulling my students out from the typical and conventional process of learning and providing them with the new technique of learning. I have started a number of initiatives for the students, like mock interviews, pieces of training, workshops, seminars, industry visits, and many more.

How does the curriculum of your department/college ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Keeping updated and at par with the industry demands”

We have designed the curriculum in a way that each subject will make the student learn all the relevant things. If we keep ourselves updated with the changing environment and changing industry trends and needs, we can modify/change our curriculum likewise. All our subjects and courses are industry-oriented and will make the students industry-ready in the true sense.

What valuable advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

“Identify your strengths and weaknesses and work on the same”

In today’s world students are experiencing a lot of pressure from peers and parents as well which influences their decisions. My suggestion for them is that they should think about what they really want to do in life and what they are good at. I believe a person who enjoys his work can never fail in it. So fix your goal and work had to meet that goal.
