How do you strategize about the key programs and plan for the marketing and administration of your institute?

“Defining long-term visions for KIAMS”

It is always a team effort, comprising admissions, recruiting, marketing, and PGDM program faculty and staff. Some strategies that have helped market the Institute are social media where students often talk about their experiences with the institute. Raising visibility and getting engaged with conferences and conventions is another great way to market the Institute. Lastly, international tie-ups play an equally important role.

What do you think makes it the best industry to work?

“Assembly of inquisitive minds waiting every day for me to solve new questions”

Academics is the best industry to work every single day we get to learn and teach. It is challenging and exciting too, and my skills like networking, time-management, resilience, and leadership are exercised in various situations. This industry is the only industry that can influence the next generation. There lies a great sense of satisfaction to carve the future of students and help them achieve their ambitions.

What keeps you going even after all these years?

“Adding to the body of knowledge using my creativity”

It is said that effective relationships between individuals and companies rest on employees’ trust that the goals are connected. By training or developing an employee the goals become more visible and therefore are easy connect. Training is the most closely aligned function with any management’s operating goals like productivity, quality, on-time delivery, and so on. As the businesses upgrade and their goals change, so will the training styles, objectives, nature, and its relationship with other sub-functions. This keeps the light of research lit, as the years pass by.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Strategic leadership for streamlining processes”

Leadership, according to me, is the ability to keep everyone on the same page. This is truly a Herculean task, especially when there are two entirely different groups, one is millennial students and other gen X and Y teachers. This ensures that, when empowered, different people can own different processes at different times. I constantly endeavor to boost productivity and create an environment that would encourage the staff to be innovative and push forward their ideas. This is attached with some intrinsic or external rewards which encourage and motivate the staff and students to achieve their goals.

How does the curriculum of KIAMS ensure the best practice of the industry that are relevant in the real world?

“Benchmarking with competing institutes, aligning with the strategic intent of the institute”

The curriculum of KIAMS strives to improve business management education by creating specialized management knowledge to match with the demands of a more context-specific and technologically advanced knowledge economy. Designing and restructuring the curriculum includes program structure, course content, and pedagogical approach. Keeping in mind the AICTE framework for the syllabus, the KIAMS curriculum has been continually evolving with the up-gradation of new systems and constant innovations in the business world.

What would you like students to know about KIAMS that they might not know already?

“To shape the thinkers, difference-makers, and change-bringers”

I would like to call upon students to take advantage of KIAMS’s well-established reputation.

Students are constantly encouraged to come up with and see through their own project ideas and experiments. Any idea that helps make the name of KIAMS shine from the student’s part would be well accepted by us.

What suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Staying up-to-date and away from procrastination”

My suggestion to aspiring students would be to expand their knowledge. Today companies are looking for candidates who can work in diverse settings, so it is important to learn multiple skills. What needs to be done today should be done now, that is the speed with which the world moves in terms of innovation, so one should be proactive in applying feasible ideas as soon as it strikes them. Lastly, take failures in your stride, learn to accept it, and step on it to reach heights.
