Views on education industry in India and abroad

We have been a part of hospitality sector for nearly 16 years and delivering education to make the students industry ready. In India, specifically talking about the hospitality sector, a lot of advancement is required in terms of skill set, technology upgradation, infrastructure and more. The same sector in abroad, is fully equipped and upgraded. And our country has a long way to go in order to match those standards. Instead of focusing on theory, the curriculum should have more practical training especially in this stream.

Dedication and determination - Key factors to execute a plan

When I first came to LBIIHM, my vision for the college was to “Counsel and encourage” students to join our exceptional course. It began with a few students in a small pool, and currently we have students coming from various corners of India.

I have a clear vision and an aim i.e. to take our institute to a greater height. For this, I am actively involved in day to day happenings and decision-making process. I work with the marketing team as well as with the in-house management to prepare a proper plan to keep ourselves fresh and best in the industry.

Efficient listener - Leadership philosophy and style of Mr. Gupta

According to me, it is about having an understanding, building trust, and mutual respect that one must maintain in order to be a great leader. While working, if I find anything concrete as advice, I certainly discuss and convey the same within the team.

Personally, I do not believe in any assumptions. My methodology is to keep the “Unity” in the team intact. Eventually, the idea is to perform productively and it cannot be fulfilled unless we work in a healthy atmosphere.

Changing nature of Hospitality Industry

Over the years, I have seen students are getting more and more aware of this industry. As stated already, LBIIHM began with a thin attendance; over the years, it has grown to a large extent. Food programs on television, big screen, and online have created an enormous impact on the minds of people.

Nowadays, students are attracted to the professionalism attached to this industry. Hygiene, glamour, and style attached also play a vital role in creating interest in young minds for this industry. Also, excellent placement opportunities by the industry is acting as a hook because of which students are keen to join this industry.

Upcoming plans for the Institute

To maintain the quality of academics, we are putting our best efforts to approach students across India to join Hotel Management courses. The reason being, our surveys so far have shown that there are many who are keen to join this industry but they are either unaware or have very little knowledge about these courses.

Therefore, our foremost plan is to make students aware of the available opportunities in the sector. We also wish to extract hidden talents in children and produce a large segment of skilled youth in the Hospitality sector to serve the industry best.
