Smt. Daya Madhuri Saka is the Vice Principal of the Dadi Veerunaidu College (DVC), Visakhapatnam. She has a specialization in the subject of Zoology and has completed an M.Phil degree. Joined the college as a lecturer, she received a promotion to the designation of Vice-Principal. Due to her expertise in the field and operations, she has been working at the top positions for the last 3 years.

What keeps you connected to the education sector?

“An innate passion towards the field of education motivates me to be a part of it”

Teaching is my passion. In this field of profession, I can teach and train the younger generation and in turn, I can make society a better place. I have always been inclined towards teaching because in this profession I can ensure the proper education for the coming generation. 

What are the steps taken by the college to ensure the best education in the industry?

“JAM sessions, enhancing soft skills and a practical approach towards learning”

  • In addition to theoretical knowledge, we also provide practical knowledge to our students. 
  • Developing problem-solving skills through student activities and interpersonal interactions. 
  • Collaborative assignments and projects assigned. 
  • To improve communication skills, we organize JAM sessions, group discussions, and related activities to help boost the confidence level of the students. This is a way to train them for interviews.

How is the college training the students for placements?

As all the students coming into the college are from rural backgrounds, they require intense training in communication and presentation skills. Hence, to help students in this domain we organize few activities. The students are given topics to speak in front of everyone in the local language and then we help them translate it into the English language. Proper training in English is very necessary as it is a universally accepted language. 

What are the steps taken by the college to help the economically poor background students?

“We are giving free education while providing scholarships to a lot of students”

 Scholarships are provided by the college and the government for students from weaker socio-economic backgrounds. The chairman of the college is also providing multiple scholarships to help these students. College also provides free study materials to needy students. We believe that everyone should get equal opportunity, especially the students who are performing well academically. All the steps are taken by the college to ensure the students have the best future ahead.

What is your view on leadership?

“The decision-making of a leader should be unbiased and should be in the welfare of the whole group.

A leader should always lead positively and constructively. A leader should never put the Blame On anyone else. They must always stand up in front of the negativity and always deliver positivity. 

Can you state a few infrastructural details of the college?

“Our labs are updated with all the latest technology required for the training and proper education of the students”

The college is equipped with all the essential Laboratories. Our Biology lab has a large collection of specimens, slides and we have all the necessary equipment for studying the anatomy of organisms. In addition to the Biology lab, we have fully equipped Chemistry, Physics, Electronics, and Computer labs.

How does the college ensure a good relationship between the faculty and the students?
