2nd May 2018, Visakhapatnam: GITAM Deemed-to-be-University signed on MoU with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to offer M.Tech in the disciplines of Electronics Design & Technology. C-DAC is a scientific society of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India emerging as a premier R&D institution for the design, development of electronic and ICT technologies and applications for socio-economic advancement.

As part of MOU, GITAM and C-DAC will launch M.Tech in Electronics Design & Technology (EDT) program jointly with 25 seats. The admission of students into the course would be on ALL-India basis through GITAM Admission Test (GAT). C-DAC would provide necessary guidelines and Faculty Training as and when required. C-DAC and GITAM shall explore the possibility for promoting placement support for M.Tech (EDT) students in the final year of the program.

C-DAC Hyderabad Director E. Magesh exchanged the MOU document with GITAM Registrar Prof. M. Potharaju in the presence of GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof. M.S. Prasada Rao, C-DAC Technical Coordinator R. Ganga Prasada, Administrative Officer Vara Prasad BSRK, GITAM Institute of Technology Principal Prof. K. Lakshmiprasad and ECE Department Head P.V.Y. Jayasree.

While briefing about the MOU, the C-DAC Hyderabad Director E.Magesh mentioned that C-DAC has been engaged in multiple areas of ICTE particularly in the areas of high-performance computing, cloud and grid computing, multi-lingual computing, software technologies including turnkey solutions related to governance, processes, cybersecurity, data security and cyber forensics. He informed that C-DAC is interested to initiate joint academic programs, training and research activities with GITAM.

GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof. M.S. Prasada Rao expressed that GITAM faculty and students will utilize the opportunity to work with C-DAC experts particularly in research activities.
