Apeejay Stya University receives the ‘Best University for IP Facilitation’ Award

Apeejay Satya: Recently, Apeejay Stya University (ASU) won the prestigious ‘Best University for IP Facilitation’ award. It was conferred by ASSOCHAM during the 2nd IP Excellence Awards on November 10th, 2022 at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi.
The ASSOCHAM IP Excellence Awards recognize and honor educational institutions, organizations, and individuals for their pioneering efforts in facilitating innovations. The award was received by Prof. Raj S Dhankar, Vice-Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Prof. Parikshit Vashisht from the School of Engineering & Technology, ASU.
On receiving the award, Vice-Chancellor Raj S. Dhankar said, "This is yet another achievement for Apeejay Stya University. The honor is a testament to our efforts to support a cutting-edge platform for research and innovation, to unleash the creative potential of faculty and staff, and to support a robust intellectual property (IP) ecosystem in the nation.”

By combining the two identities of a technology and research-based university and a Liberal Arts institution, it seeks to transform society via value-based education, man-making, and nation-building. The University has nine schools and three centers: the Apeejay Incubation Center, the Design Innovation Center, and the Centre for Liberal Arts, all of which have received approval from MSME. All of these institutions arrange for their students to complete internships and practical training in the relevant industries.
Apeejay Stya University signs MoU with PHD Chamber in a strategic industry-academia partnership

New Delhi: In a strategic industry-academia partnership, Apeejay Stya University (ASU) and apex industry chamber PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) have recently signed a MoU facilitating collaboration in incubation of ideas, new product development, two-way knowledge-sharing, Scale Up & technology transfers, skill development and other areas.
Apart from knowledge dissemination through national & international guest lectures, workshops, conclave & seminars, it seeks to ensure industry readiness, internships & faculty development programmes. Among other things, it will be of major benefit to the students to enhance their skills & knowledge.
In a special message, Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Co-Founder and Chancellor, ASU said, “Industry-academia interface has always been a focus area in our approach to education. The MoU with PHD Chamber would provide a formal basis for joint collaboration between industry and academia to develop required skills in a path towards excellence.” Mrs Berlia is also Chairperson, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Apeejay Education, which runs 24 educational institutions across India.
At the MoU ceremony, Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, President, PHDCCI, said, “Industry leaders’ knowledge through lectures, workshops, seminars and faculty development programs etc. will help academia to have the knowhow of industry’s requirements and will help in bridging the skill gap.”
Appreciating the efforts for joining hands together towards bridging skill gap, Mr. Nishant Berlia, Co-Promoter, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Pro-Chancellor of ASU said virtually, “This industry academia collaboration will serve as a platform for sharing knowledge and foster innovation”.
Mr. Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary General, PHDCCI, Prof R. S Dhankar, Vice Chancellor, ASU and Dr. Anupama Diwan, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences were also present for the occasion.

ASU and Oracle jointly organize Workshops on Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence

With the aim to create better awareness about the latest trends in Information Technology among school students, the School of Engineering & Technology at Apeejay Stya University and Oracle recently organized a Workshop on Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence in Delhi NCR. This was done as part of an ongoing Workshops’ series being conducted by ASU and Oracle, the leader in the field of Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence.
The Workshop was steered by experts like Mr. Robin Mazumdar, Senior Solution Consultant, Oracle University, and Parag Mitra, Sr. Consultant, Oracle University. It commenced with an introduction by Prof. Moinuddin, Faculty, School of Engineering & Technology at Apeejay Stya University, who briefed the students about the B.Tech program offered by ASU. Then, Mr. Mitra took over the stage and explained the meaning and importance of Cloud Computing in more detail. Throughout the session, Mr. Mitra interacted with the students and encouraged them to ask questions and also share their views. He talked about the global presence of Oracle and what makes it one of the biggest IT companies in the world.
School of Engineering & Technology at ASU offers B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with specializations in Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence. This program is offered in collaboration with Oracle WDP. Apart from the regular curriculum, the students are also taught specialized subjects, which are industry-related and market-driven, by Oracle experts. With its advanced B.Tech program, ASU aims to provide its students with a competitive advantage in the job market. Moreover, Oracle certification is valid across the world.

Attended by about 1000 students from the national capital territory so far, the Workshops’ series focuses on empowering aspiring students with basic understanding regarding the emerging fields of Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence. Besides, in these workshops, students are also being counseled about the vast career prospects in the said fields and the future therein.
