Dr. Sudesh Kumar Sohani is currently the Vice-Chancellor of RKDF University, Bhopal. He is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and CEG Chennai. He possesses quite a diversified and rich experience of about 35 years. In his initial career, for about a decade he had been in R&D and worked as “Senior Scientist” with CSIR, Govt. of India. During the Academic Administration period, he has been holding the responsibilities as Professor, Principal, Director, Dean in Technical Institutions/University. He is well versed with academic approvals and accreditations including AICTE, UGC, DTE, Universities, NBA, NAAC, ISO, NABL, etc.

What is your philosophy of leadership and its balanced execution?

“To create an unbiased and congenial working environment for the collective growth of the team”

There has to be a consistent cordial environment, and mutual respect whether it is among the employees, among the faculty members, or between the students and teachers. As a leader, I want to ensure that there is a healthy environment so that people can extend their services with full efficiency. In due course of time, a disciplined graceful environment becomes a trend as well as a habit on the campus.

How does the curriculum of RKDF university ensure the best practice in the industry?

“Our syllabuses are outcome-based and aligned with the industry requirements”

We offer a detailed curriculum at our university that is regularly updated & revised. The Board of Studies (BOS) & Academic Council also sit down and work out essential revisions in the syllabus and incorporate skill-based learning into the syllabuses. 50-60% of programs we offer are applied programs. 

Any insights on how your university is more inclusive towards students from weaker sections of society?

“We provide financial aid in form of Scholarships to talented and meritorious students”

Our university does not have any kind of bias for students from different sections of society, caste, creed, nationality. Rather, students from the weaker section do get the government scholarship support as per the rules. There is a cordial vibrancy in the environment of the university.

What are the top priorities of RKDF university, over the upcoming years?

“As educators, we want the best for our students in terms of research, International collaborations & infrastructure”

  • Our top priority is to impart the best possible quality education for the overall development of the students. There are multiple processes, methodologies, and pedagogies we are following for improvisation as far as the academics are concerned, it is a continual process. 
  • Our next priority is expanding the research in our university and getting the collaborative research projects in all areas of specializations we offer. 

What are some of the greatest strengths of RKDF University?

“Being able to provide quality education using our expertise is our greatest strength”

We are offering about eighty-five Diploma, U.G., P.G., Ph.D. programs in various specializations. These include most of the engineering branches, management, architecture, agriculture, pharmacy, law, medical, physiotherapy, nursing, homeopathy, paramedical, arts, commerce, science, etc. At RKDF University there is an advantage of multi-disciplinary exposure to the students.
