Amid COVID19 pandemic, there are a large number of students who are very worried about how to take the admission in their preferred university. During this awe-inspiring hour, when all universities and colleges are locked down, and even the CBSE results have not yet been declared; students are confused about how to take the admission. Under this aspect, the top universities are taking various steps in helping students to take admission online through digital media. One of the premium universities in the country, Lovely Professional University (LPU) has come up with a very novel idea of conducting special counselling for students to take admission in B. Tech programmes, knowing well that students are unable to appear for its entrance test- “LPUNEST”.

In this regard, LPU has decided to consider the JEE main score of January test as a basis, by which a student will be able to get direct admission. For this, LPU is conducting online special counselling, which starts from 22nd April to 24th April 2020. Going one step ahead, the university has also decided to provide a scholarship of up to 50%, on the basis of JEE Main score. This is a very unique move taken by the university to help the students.Further, it has also been mentioned that the university will also give a chance to students to improve their scholarship once their board results are out. In case their board results are further delayed then such students can improve the scholarship on the basis of LPUNEST.

Talking about this, LPU Director Mr Aman Mittal mentioned: “During crucial Corona times, we thought about how to help students in taking admissions. So, we have introduced a special counselling session which will ease out the pressure upon students. With this concept, they will not be missing the opportunity to take admission in their preferred stream”

Mr Mittal also informed: “LPU has already taken a great initiative, and has pledged ‘One Million US Dollars’ to work on various technologies that can help prevent the further spread of CoronaVirus. There are other universities in India also, which are taking similar steps for admissions; however, LPU’s initiative is one of the unique ones that are specially taken in India during almost complete nationwide lockdown.”
