At SGVU, what are the greatest strengths of your department?

“Carrying the capability to guide and shape the careers of the students”

The School of Hotel Management was established in the year 2004. As far as the strength of the department is concerned, the list would start with the huge infrastructure, well-equipped labs, and most importantly the attractive packages offered to our students. Apart from that, we are also having the industrial-mentor coordination where our Alumni and industrial expert are in constant touch with students to guide them in their decision making process.

What strategies do you apply for the overall growth of the students in your department?

“Teach them skills that make them not only employable but also presentable”

As we are running this department for more than a decade, we have developed and opted for unique practices for the overall growth of students in term of rich values, personality, communication. What are the types of training/internships that the students are working on through this program?

“An overall training program for a better concept”

We send our students on 6 months Industrial Training as per the prescribed curriculum. The training is not just limited within the country but also overseas. Apart from this, we send our students for outdoor catering in hotels so that they get to know the latest trends in the hospitality industry.

How do you train yourself or the faculty to deliver this program to the students?

“Constant encouragement to up-skill and upgrade one’s knowledge”

The education sector is a place of continuous learning for the faculty and a student. Every day you get to learn something new or the other. We have kept a flexible environment. The students and the faculty are encouraged to read journals, papers, and articles related to the program. They get a chance to meet eminent professors and people from the industry with a vast experience.

What is your approach to making a healthy environment for your students?

“To make them feel heard and appreciated”

Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur administration, and higher management always focuses on the ambiance of the premises. The university opted for the personal tutor system, where the faculty is assigned with few students who always monitor the student’s grades, progress, academic performance. They are responsible to sort out any discrepancy if any, and regularly keep in touch with the parents via parent-teacher meeting.
