What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Education is what remains even after one has forgotten everything else”

There is no better service than imparting knowledge. I personally feel this is one sector that allows us to keep enhancing our knowledge, skills, and abilities along with values and ethics. Another important factor is the individualization of education. I believe that teachers should personalize their educational approach depending on each child’s needs.

What is your philosophy of leadership and its implementation?

“A blend of modern & traditional leadership styles to adapt to the demanding nature of academic field”

I believe that no one type of leadership can actually frame grounds for sustainable development of pupils from such different backgrounds. Especially when it comes to education sector. Having said that, I generally change my leadership style as per the situation. It varies from pacesetting style, affiliative style, or at times when needed autocratic. Philosophy in leadership is essentially a belief system that guides your decision-making. It consists of one’s core principles, perspectives, and values.

Any insights into how the college can welcome students of different backgrounds?

Promoting an environment of social, cultural and economical tolerance”

A range of academic interests, personal perspectives, and life experiences adds much to the educational mix. Diversity in a college community should be demonstrated as an important culture in society. Giving financial support and resources available is also important for students. Also, focus must be put on diverse hiring to meet diverse learning needs.

What do you think should be the college's top priority over the next 10 years?

The expansion of research capacity and innovation is essential to match the global standards”

The demand for higher education and the magnitude of planned reforms over the next ten years in India will provide huge opportunities. This stands true for international higher education institutions and education businesses as well. Since our college has a branch of science operating, enhancing our research capabilities can be one of the topmost criteria on the priority list.

What do you think your responsibilities to the college and the students are?

To be a learner and a visionary to provide the right leadership to my students and staff”

I feel my prime responsibility is to provide strategic direction that would lead my institution towards success and prosperity. Balance relationship with earned praises. To be Fair and Consistent.

What has been your vision for the college?

“To provide growth opportunities and comprehensive education to the students”

My journey with this college has evolved with time. Initially, when I had joined the college as a professor, I did it by accepting the vision the college had for itself. Which is "a quality education to all". With time, experience, involvement, and maturity, I perceive that our college has a vision of giving "quality competitive education governed with values to keep them grounded while having a dream to fly high. I have just begun my journey, and every year I feel like I’m reliving my passion to bring our vision into reality

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in the current age?

“Academic patterns must align with learning the latest advances in the field”

  • Education models need to reflect the demand for lifelong learning to cope with the technological and social changes
  • Instead of degrees, skills should be identified as the higher priority.
  • Increasing the need for life-long learning in a non-linear world would be a major challenge as well.
  • To meet the rising expectations of the students.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Being humble with great moral values, coupled with deep focus”

Youth have a role to renew, refresh and maintain. Though the youth today are more advanced and smarter than us, still all I would want to say is respect time, be emotionally grounded and strong, and develop good ethics and value systems.
