In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?
“Need-based research topics guided by specialized faculty”
The curriculum designed and content developed are by the experts in this field in Cheran College of Nursing. The syllabus of nursing we follow is a universal standard that is followed by every institution. Our nursing course is for four years, with 19 subjects where we will be giving them adequate training for each class. We would want to adopt the module system as a foreign university in the long term.
What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
“Keeping the lines of communication open to all”
According to my leadership nature, I always adopt democratic leadership style with my faculty. This helps in bringing out the best ideas from my faculties. With my students/children and old age people, I adopt a benevolent leadership style where I empathize with them to understand their requirements before providing them solutions.
What was your vision for the college? Has it evolved, and how far along in implementing that vision are you?
“Giving the students the right amount of exposure for their betterment”
My Vision or Mission for the colleges is to concentrate more quality, standard, best practice, and beneficial output. After spending some time in the institute, the second thoughts for me are to provide creative and aesthetic solutions because of newcomers like students and parents.

“Keeping up with the changing universal standards”
I look at providing infrastructure as the biggest challenge in the current colleges across India. In particular, when we talk about Cherraan College of Nursing, we continuously focus on upgrading our infrastructure to meet world-class standards. We are building ventilated rooms for all the students and faculty with an IT facility for all the faculties. The digital infrastructure is a focus area for us.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
“Taking training seriously and keeping up with the global standards”
Young people need to recognize that the Nursing profession is the best choice for their career if they consider their career choice as required all across the world. Now with home care becoming famous, it becomes an alternate option for the students to pursue their career in Nursing.
For pursuing higher studies in abroad countries, students should focus on research projects and on-ground training to increase their standard of competition in the global stage.
How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your institute?
“Treating the patient with the utmost care and respect”
We would want the students to be good listeners and treat all the patients with the utmost care and talk politely to understand their problem. We want our students to base their answers on evidence and statistics. We want our students to communicate properly through emails and messages. They need to deal with all the stakeholders in a friendly way. They should be concerned about all the patients in an individual capacity.
