What is your philosophy of leadership?

My leadership style is to work in a friendly, caring and service centric environment”

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated?

“Have achieved autonomous status recently and built a career-oriented syllabus”

The curriculum is designed by the university we are affiliated with (Bharathiar University, Coimbatore). The Institution has been granted autonomous status and from the following year, we will be following the curriculum designed by us. We have an expert committee of members on the board of studies. Teachers of the various departments are on the board of studies, offering our expertise and knowledge in designing the curriculum. The syllabus is updated every three years and in between also as per the need.

What is the latest program that you are offering in your department?

The latest program is a certificate course in Human Development in collaboration with St. Andrew Center”

A Human Development certificate course is amongst our latest offerings. The need for this course was felt to help students understand psychology and its associated subjects. Apart from this, we have a full-fledged Postgraduate and research department with full strength.

How does your department prepare students for higher education and placements?

Several placement drives organised by the placement cell of the college”

We do have an efficient placement cell that helps students in their training and career quest. A good number of the students get placed in prestigious companies. Another highlight of the department is that our students earn while they learn. They are freelance trainers and tutors for children abroad and are well paid for the same. Providence students are most sought after for their language skills and abilities.

What are the interventions you bring in apart from the curriculum to train the students?

Tie-ups with organisations and training sessions to help overcome the challenges of future”

We are a student-centric institute and their well being is our primary concern. Mental health, career guidance, mentoring and empowerment oriented sessions are often conducted. Skill development is also focussed upon and we encourage students to exhibit their creative work on and off the campus. Creative writing and content writing sessions help them become more self-sufficient.

What do you see as the department’s greatest strengths?

The greatest strengths of the department are the well-qualified faculty and the excellent library”

These two serve as the wealth of any educational organization. Therefore, we ensure that the quality of faculty and educational materials is never neglected. The teachers are motivated and duly recognised to make them thrive with a positive spirit. Additionally, the library is updated every year with more collections of books.
