What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“It is an urge to do something good, unique, and novel and give it back to society”

The desire is to contribute in my way to social development and nation-building. Because education is a power, it is a virtue and an instrument to transform oneself and society. It is not only a transformation of the individual but generations altogether. Academic/administrative position and power are meant for these goals to be realized, which gives immense satisfaction.

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“I believe that each one can contribute to society”

We have our weaknesses and strengths. However, if the proper motivation is provided, one can do wonders. I firmly believe that the best leadership trait is to empower others – create leaders in the process of inclusiveness. I always strive to provide an environment where the students, faculty members, staff have ample opportunity to find and utilize their potential for which they are given due recognition.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here at MNLU Mumbai?

“We are continuously moving forward with advancements in all domains”

MNLU Mumbai has the vision to become a world-class law university. We are committed to foster an environment of excellence in research, scholarship, education, and justice. Within a short span, MNLU Mumbai has become one of the most cherished NLU by law aspirants worldwide. It became possible due to our faculty members, staff, and students – the whole MNLU fraternity, including the members of our executive bodies, have played a pivotal role in taking this University ahead. The exposure we strive to provide to the students – within our infrastructural limitations –is at par with the international expectations. There is no doubt that our earlier batches faced the infrastructural constraints which the students have coped with a smile and a commitment. We are not creating mechanized corporations, but with the imparting of legal education by nurturing diversity, equity, ethics, and inclusiveness, we have created within the learning realm for students to learn, explore and grow.

How does the curriculum of MNLU Mumbai Ensure the best practice of the industry?

“We ensure that our students are abreast to current industry standards”

The National Law School system was created as there was a visible gap between teaching and practice. These premier institutions filled this gap wherein a balance was achieved between the theory and the trade traits. Within the curriculum prescribed by the Bar Council of India, there is enough flexibility and autonomy to make the curriculum market relevant. Further, we are not just providing Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees, but many vivid and exciting areas of laws have evolved over the time for which demand is there. Further, experts from the industry, bar, and bench are a regular feature that helps students polish themselves up to the market expectations.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?

“The responsibility is to provide best exposure to the students”

I believe that my roles and responsibilities towards my University and my students are not alienated, but they are unison. The commitment is to make the environment of learning inclusive, conducive, and pleasant. Moreover, the responsibility is to provide the best exposure to the students - be it for academics or overall development. Within this, the most significant aim is to keep the ship sailing - that the University grows to prepare for the future.

What do you think should be MNLU Mumbai’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“We want to become an institution of prime excellence”

The priority will be to serve the students better and create gems that strengthen and uphold the nation's constitutional values and work. Also, the aim is to create a world-class university that creates a balance between international demand and regional needs.

What would you like the people to know about your university they may not know?

“We promote equality and take care all norms are being followed”

MNLU Mumbai takes care of diversity and inclusiveness by following the State of Maharashtra's reservation policy. We have zero-tolerance for ragging, harassment, or discrimination of any kind. We have entered into several MoUs with national and international institutions. The University has never shielded itself under infrastructural constraints but used the developing years to its advantage and has come out stronger.
