3rd October 2018, Hyderabad: On Monday, October 01, 2018, GITAM School of Architecture of GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad celebrated ‘World Architecture Day 2018’. By choosing a different theme for reflection each year, World Architecture Day aimed to draw the attention of professionals and the public to issues concerning cities and housing. This year, The International Union of Architects (UIA) selected the theme as “Architecture... for a better world!”.
This is to remind the world about collective responsibility of architects and designers, creating our future cities and settlements with self-conscious and sensibility. As the range of global challenges grows and intensifies, the role of architecture, planning, and design are becoming ever more critical to ensuring a better future for all people. Countries all around the globe highlight the importance of architecture through events, exhibits, lectures and other activities, for the profession and the public.
In this light, Prof. Y. Lakshman Kumar, Dean & Director, GHBS inaugurated the exhibition of students’ work at GITAM School of Architecture, in the presence of DVVSR Varma, Resident Director. Prof. Sunil Kumar, Director, School of Architecture, Faculty, and students also took part in these celebrations.
