In these hard times of COVID-19 situation, how are you engaging your students and how are you getting new admissions?

“In these hard and unprecedented times we are leveraging the online and digital resources”

We have purchased licenses from Microsoft Teams, and all our classes, assignments, group discussion, meeting, grand viva all are smoothly taking place online. Students are regularly contacted through different modes by our teams, to get them engaged in our various new activities. During this pandemic time, the style of the education system has changed entirely. Thus, we regularly keep in touch with our students to help them whenever and wherever necessary. For the smooth admission process, we have taken the aid of both online and offline mediums.

“We have 8 Engineering colleges under St. Mary’s Group. For placement, we have a centralized placement cell which takes care of all the colleges. And considering the placement statistics of our college, we have an excellent placement record, and we provide them with quality students.”

What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“I assure that the energy of all the people involved is directed towards a common goal”

Educational leadership is the process of enlisting and guiding the talents and energies of teachers and students toward achieving common educational aims. Being a vice-principal cum leader, it is my responsibility to guide and direct the individuals in an appropriate manner towards the implementation of their tasks and functions. Also, I have to provide solutions to various problems and hindrances which may occur. I make sure to take effective decisions and create amiable environmental conditions, which would facilitate the achievement of the goal.

What are some challenges you see for education in India?

“There are numerous possibilities and outcomes based solutions for every problem”

I always try to learn from every challenge of life. I believe everyone should come up with a positive solution and explore to overcome the problems. As the pandemic intensified, our management immediately planned to start all the courses in emerging areas as per the AICTE report. It helped us to secure our new generation students. There may be N number of challenges, but in St Mary’s we always try to overcome every challenge.

And talking about higher education challenges, there is a lack of motivation among the students for higher education. They limit themselves after certain education and ignore the benefits of higher education. Some of them don’t know the benefits of higher education and those who know, they also limit themselves for higher education.
