Dr. Bhaskar Pal, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences

Dr. Bhaskar Pal is currently working as the Professor and Dean of School of Automobile & Manufacturing at Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He holds Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) and Masters of Engineering (Production Engineering) from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur. He holds a Ph. D degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.

Dr. Pal has earlier worked as the Assistant Manager in Wendt India Limited for 4 years, as Assistant Professor in ICFAI for 4 years, as Professor in Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering for 2 years, as Professor and Head of Department in Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management for 2 years and as Professor and Head of Department in Alliance University for 3 years.

Dr. Pal is Skilled in E-Learning, Lecturing, Curriculum Development, and Statistics. He has a strong education background with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree focused in Machining, Grinding.

Dr. Pal’s experience in the education industry

It is always refreshing as it’s always filled with fresh droplets from clouds. The real challenge is to nurture this droplet in such a way that it should not get adulterated. Through the process of education, these intelligent droplets get intellectual and start sparkling like a diamond with its every. It enriches the whole system due to its mutually beneficial relationships. It is attributed to a Nation Building activity.

Understanding the philosophy of skill University; bringing the concepts of skill oriented pedagogy from conventional; focus on specific job oriented programs like Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronics; organizing the randomness of the characters, understanding the need of individuals.

Curriculum of SUAS

This University makes the curriculum didactic. In each curriculum, a link exists between theory and practice. Each module has its uniqueness to associate with practical components. The teaching pedagogy is believed to be of 30% theory components and 70% practical components. The students are exposed to each subject with different components throughout their semester like theory, skill, tutorial and practical. At the end of every semester, students are assessed by the Industry personal in every course for preparing them as skilled personnel.

The environment should be academically oriented with flair and cultural mix. Encourage the student to be a teacher, to be an orator, to be patriotic during Independence day/Republic day, to be a leader to lead the cultural festival. The students from different places in India are perusing their study at Symbiosis. So allowing to perform their intrinsic culture, fusion those to other culture which makes a sensation to overall unity.

Top qualities that an aspiring PGDM/Engineering/BBA/Law/Arts student must possess

Nowadays, most of the companies need skilled personnel from day one. Formal education must be transformed to enable new forms of learning that are needed to tackle complex global challenges of twenty-first-century skills. Lecture model is highly ineffective for teaching twenty-first-century competencies and skills. Learners need skills such as critical thinking, the ability to communicate effectively, innovate, and solve problems through negotiation and collaboration.
