Dr. Vikas Kumar, SUAS Indore

Dr. Vikas Kumar is presently working as the Assistant Professor in School of Automobile and Manufacturing Engineering at the Symbiosis University of Applied Science. He did his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, M.Tech in Thermal & Fluid Engineering and Ph.D. in Thermal & Fluid Engineering. Prior to SUAS, he has worked as Assistant Professor at Department of Mechanical Engineering, GLA University, and as Lecturer at GLA University and Institute of Technology and Management.

Dr. Kumar is GATE qualified. His research papers have been published in international journals and he has presented his papers in national conferences as well. He has also attended workshops on important topics.

My philosophy of leadership is to develop the positive culture, freedom, trust, and belongingness among the students, faculties and staff so that they collectively achieve the goal of an organization rather than escaping to another organization.

Yes, I had faced a little bit of challenges while developing the course curriculum that meets the recent technological development related to an industry.

The curriculum of SUAS is aligned with National Skill Quality Framework (NSQF) which leads to the development of a capable of fulfilling the requirement of current industries.


Changes over the years and skill set demanded by a corporate in a student

More advanced topics and subjects have been introduced in the curriculum that meets the demand of current industries along with the of young engineers equipped with knowledge of recent technology helped to meet the requirement of a corporate.

The corporate demands for basic knowledge of engineering along with them to learn new things.

Ample of opportunity is available for every student of SUAS as the course curriculum is designed as per the latest demand of industries which ultimately leads to employability.

First of all, I keep myself always open for discussion on doubts if they have and promoting the innovative ideas among the students. I am available to them specifically in my lectures and lab hours. Apart from this, they may come directly to me during my availability on the university campus, if they have any difficulty.


Thoughts on an ideal school environment

It would be the environment in which students should feel free to ask their difficulties to their teachers.


Qualities that an aspiring Engineering student must possess

The student should possess the logical ability and must be capable of producing innovative ideas.
