Farozan is working as an Assistant Professor at Sanjivnie Degree College. She joined SGEI in Aug 2007 and has completed more than 14 years serving here successfully. She has done B.Ed., M.Ed. from Awadh University and completed MLISC, and M.A. English from AMU, Aligarh. She has also worked as Joint Secretary during 2002-2003. She has been awarded various Scholarships in 2002-03 and 2003-04.
What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?
“Inspiration to improve others life by educating them”
Education is that sector which always has scope for learning for a person of every age group. I am studying and learning something new every day so basically there’s still a student inside me who keeps me connected to the education industry. I feel teaching is my passion from day one itself. Education is a better field to interact with different kinds of people and it keeps you in touch with the younger generation.
What are your roles and responsibilities?
“To make them industry ready by proving best opportunities to grow”
As you know SGEI is located in Bahraich and hence the students we get are not very groomed and don't have good communication skills. So being the faculty of English Course it’s my responsibility to help them in every way possible and bring out the best of them to survive in the current industry. Special attention is given to each and every student and assignments and special activities are done to keep them engaged.
How do you prepare your students for the outside competitive world?
“We offer various extracurricular activities and learning strategies”
We mainly focus on practical learning for the students as practical knowledge is must to survive in this industry. Different learning methods are used which are appropriate to the course and can help the students in developing the habit of thinking, questioning, analyzing, and decision making. Our main motive is to focus on learning and not just giving students some bookish knowledge.

What difficulties Covid has created for your department and how did you overcome that?
“Switching to online learning mode from classroom teaching was definitely a problem”
The Institute faced a lot of problems during the pandemic like every other college or Institute. As this was all of a sudden so nobody was prepared for it but we managed to bring the things back on track as online classes were held for the students. A preferred time was selected so that everyone attends the classes and recording of lectures were being shared so that even if someone misses it so they can catch up through the recorded video lectures. It was difficult in the beginning for both faculty and students to adapt to the change but gradually they adapted.
What extracurricular activities are organized for students at your institute?
“We do provide various training programs and best forums to bring out of box ideas”
We do organize a lot of activities for the students which includes sports activities, special programs and also to keep them in touch with their studies along with extracurricular activities. We also have some learning based events, practical seminars for the better understanding of field work.
What was your vision while joining this college?
“To provide finest education quality for overall business growth of institute”
My vision was to provide students that level of study here itself so that students don’t have to migrate to different cities for education purposes and they get everything here itself. So effective teaching, personal relations with students to make them comfortable so that they don’t hesitate in asking any kind of doubts.
How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?
“By offering open atmosphere for healthy communication”
My relation with students and fellow faculty really matters for me. I have been here for more than 15 years now so yes I can say that we have a very healthy environment here. Every faculty is always present to help each other and also for the students. We maintain a level of professional and personal relation with the students so that they stay focused towards studies too.

What advice would you like to give to students for a prosperous career ahead?
“Be passionate about your goals and give your best always”
Dedication is the key to success. If you are dedicated towards something, then sooner or later you are going to achieve it. Do what you like, what really makes you happy so that you can apply your 100% in that without any deviation.
