What are the prime factors that connect you with the education sector?

“The will to change the education industry by bridging the gap between industry and education”

Over the past few years, I have worked with various MNCs, investment banks, and collaborated with a number of organizations, so I feel I am already connected to the industry.

The only reason we're here is to change the industry, to connect the industry to the education sector, to bridge the gap in between. The education system is not able to cope up with the present, the things that are being taught to the students are at least 10 years old.The only way to solve this was to bring the industry to the students, to be updated, to modernize. That's why GCEC. GCEC gets the industry to the students with the practical experience provided in the form of internship + experienced mentors from the entrepreneurial world itself.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Helping students identify their unique identity”

I define philosophy of leadership as passion. To succeed, you must first fail. According to us, it is important to experience suffering in the real world as a human being. Considering the intensity of competition in the current work environment and how it will only grow in the future, this college emphasizes real-life learning. As a result of learning from my mistakes in the past, I share my experiences with others so that my students don’t make the same mistakes I did, so that they can learn from my experiences and be better. There is nothing standardised, not one-size-fits-all, everyone has a unique thumb impression, no one is the same. I believe everyone has to work out a way to figure out what sets them apart from the others under proper mentorship and find out ways to identify it and harness it.

How do you strategize plans for the marketing and administration on campus?

“Courses focussed on future learning and marketing through results of our students”

Talking about marketing, we do limited marketing, our main focus includes worrying about and working on our students. We rely on word of mouth advertising plus the results speak for themselves. We have the highest number of top scorers with the best results in the country, and we aim to keep the number growing. Already, we have 8 to 10 times more applicants each year than we can accommodate as we do not collect students for admission, but only select a few students for the course we offer.Through your forum we want to spread the word that we exist and we’re doing something exceptional and that people can grab the opportunities that are being provided here!

Our programs are based on industry’s feedback. That's why the college is known for entrepreneurship and commerce. GCEC is a business college, business is future and all the programs are focused on providing future learnings, therefore there are no plain courses available in GCEC only professional. Every mentor who teaches here is an entrepreneur and has industry based experience and is working in his/her respective fields. Every class aims to bring the student to the real world with the latest technologies, online courses and more.

What is an inbound student getting from studying at GCEC?

“Amalgamation of foreign education with the best of Indian Techniques”

Everything that GCEC offers is just the same as a foreign college but with an Indian twist to provide the best of the both at the same place. GCEC basically is the amalgamation of foreign education with the best of indian techniques! GCEC works hand in hand with the international system. The college not only provides personal experience (PER) for 3 years [experience for the students to help them understand how the real world works] but also offers summer internship, has an open book test system and is a paper free college. Even the student positions are in terms of an international company! The exams are also Open book and Technology enabled. The college even has its own podcast room!

In my experience, the students can gain real life experience to get to know how the real life world is and to see how it works.

How does the curriculum of GCEC ensure industrial practice?

“Imparting Multidisciplinary education by making students design their own degree”

The curriculum is designed professionally. There are several features which make GCEC unique and its curriculum industry-ready. GCEC is the first college in Rajasthan to offer “design your own degree” structured by implementing multidisciplinary education on the lines of National Education Policy (2020). It is the only college in India to embed 3 years Practical Experience Requirement with graduation as per ACCA requirements. GCEC invites 100+ top rated guest speakers every year from Bahrain, Dubai, London, Singapore, Hong Kong etc. GCEC has F1 - F9 paper exemptions in ACCA and Content partnership with EdX and Coursera. GCEC offers a bouquet of courses and opportunities to earn to its students via the Earn while you Learn programme.

GCEC offers several perks to its students. FirstlyGCEC ensures that proper internships are being provided to the students as it helps in building confidence, helps them in gaining the required skills and experience for the real, the business world. Secondly, GCEC organizes seminars, sessions, TED talks, debates and various vocal solo activities on a regular basis to ensure healthy participation of every student, which in turn helps them in building the sharpest confidence.

What is your vision for GCEC and how do you implement it?

“A blend of practical learning and theoretical learning”

When I returned back to India, I was surprised to see the education system at a stand still. As if life had paused and there was no change for the last 15 years. Our schools and colleges were only teaching one subject called history while the world around us had changed. I saw teenagers committing suicides, I saw students feeling irritated with the system because it no longer makes sense and many students were struggling with their careers. I saw many MBAs applying for sweeper jobs, several of them were applying for trivial jobs which just did not make sense and that’s how GCEC was born.

India as a nation has the maximum number of teenage suicides in the world. We see deaths happening in top rated institutions like IITs and IIMs due to study pressures. Right from nursery to post graduation the system is irrelevant for current times. From books to the exam system, everything remains the same for the last 15 years. This entire mess in the education system made me think of GCEC which is trying to bring practical learning and theoretical learning together as a whole.

What do you like people to know about GCEC?

“The vision of GCEC and that something like GCEC exists”

I would like the people to know that we exist, that something like this is happening in the society that solutions are being executed!

We would also like the people to know that we have the highest number of top scorers with the best results in the country, and we aim to keep the number growing. Already, we have 8 to 10 times more applicants each year than we can accommodate as we do not collect students for admission, but only select a few students for the course we offer.Through your forum we want to spread the word that we exist and we’re doing something exceptional and that people can grab the opportunities that are being provided here!

What is the top priority of GCEC over the next 10 years?

“To create leaders, role models, and inspiring stories”

One of the top priorities of GCEC is to create leaders and not instruction followers. Our focus is to create 100 inspirational stories every year. Furthermore, it is our vision to be a role model for other colleges. We want to support other institutions to spread the right learning. Hence, we can learn mutually from each other and share wisdom.

What are the greatest strengths of GCEC?

“A team of young, energetic new age thinkers”

GCEC boasts of extremely talented team members who are young, energetic and believers of new age thinking. Most of our experts and mentors are toppers and merit holders with professional qualifications. From ACCA merit holders and world rankers to CA toppers to University toppers and SRCC graduates we have them all. Many of our team members are TEDx speakers, multi time patent holders and founders of top rated startups. Many of them have been awarded with awards and accolades for their contribution in the business world. We follow a lean model where we engage business professionals who excel in their fields and work with us for their interest and passion. All our mentors compulsorily have their own businesses alongside and guide our students while they work. This helps them to bring real life learnings in the classroom and advise our students. We have also created a mentor board in partnership with FII (Forum for Indian Industries) IIM Ahmedabad to mentor and guide our students as well as a panel of experts from big4 and other consulting firms who guide our students on a monthly basis.

Any suggestions for current youth or aspiring students?

“Expand your horizons with a focus on both passion and sustainability”

It is necessary to be confident and not lose hope even if your efforts fail. Fail fast, fail often and be the best of what you are made of and not to follow the crowd. I would advise students not to lose focus on sustainability. I think there is an overdose of the statement – “Follow your passion” and to a great extent it is right also but I would like to put a caveat here; life is not only about passion but also about sustainability. You need to remain focused and also sustain yourself. It is good to pursue a career of your choice but firstly expand your horizons and read about various options available, do good research, meet people and take advice. Sometimes you will need to do things which may not be a perfect choice but you need to put in your 100% there also. You may not get everything that you want but if you don’t work hard you will not get anything that you want
