Dr.I.Ramachandra Reddy is a Correspondent & Secretary of the Blooms College of Hotel Management. From 1977 Jan. to 1979, he worked as Jr. Engineer, Traffic Cell to take care of 6 districts including twin cities. He also worked in various organizations like Roads and Buildings Department and Head, Traffic Engineering Cell, HUDA and coordinated Hyderabad Transportation Studies to improve the Traffic NetWork system of twin cities. Most of the Road Widening Schemes prepared are being implemented. The only Transportation Expert approved by the Lokayukta of A.P. Government to have the quality control check of Fly-Overs and Major Road Projects. Right from 1982. He worked as Associate Professor and Professor at CBIT. In 1998, he became Principal and achieved first time accreditation for CBIT from National Board of Accreditation for 5 Engineering Disciplines with 3 ‘A’ Grades and 2 ‘B’ Grades. During 2001- 2002, he received the Best Teacher award from the Commissioner of Technical Education.

Blooms college of Hotel Management is offering Hotel Management and catering technology courses. It is affiliated to Osmania University. This institution is offering some more academic activities over and above University sellebous.


What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt?

“Food production, Front Office, Housekeeping and Food &Beverage service are core subjects to be taught to all students”

We provide training mostly on 4 basic requirements. Food Production helps students to cook varieties of foods like veg non-veg, bakery, sauces etc. Front Office ensures they are trained how to receive a guest and book rooms as required, recording address proofs like Aadhar or visa, Informing tariff rates to customers, receiving telephone messages and phone etiquette. Food and Beverage service gives training on how to make table arrangements for English, China, Italian, North and South India food services. In House Keeping the students are trained how to make a bed, cleaning of different articles like telephone, pedestal lights ,dressing table, fridge, removal of used cups, plates, dustbin. & replacement of bath and sanitary items in bathrooms


What would you say are the best practices in the course you’re offering?

“Different types of cooking methods, and theory with videos are best practices in our courses”

We teach theory by showing videos, explaining practices of different countries and practices for housekeeping. Several types of cooking and methods used in different countries for the same type of food items so that students can have universal knowledge.

“Equip the qualities like sincerity and commitment to students”

Importance of Regularity to college is the primary insight. Our college is helping pupils to equip the qualities like sincerity, commitment and zeal of work to improve the organization in which they are working.

Students are put to undergo unit wise test, Pre-Internal examinations and objective type test in campus. We are explaining correct answers for the wrong answers written.

“Provide training programs and FDP schemes on campus”

Faculty are sent to different training programs under faculty development Scheme. It will help the faculty to teach the subject in a practical and creative way.

“Give training to students to serve as employees in hotel and management”

Students are trained to serve as employees in hotels and Given management skills. It assists to extract work from employees so that they can work in a hotel or establish their own hotel by the person.


What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

“To groom students for honesty and hard work”

The students chosen for this hotel management are not as studious as of medical and engineering students. Hence, they should be groomed for hardworking and honest working.


What are the types of projects that the students are working on through this program?

“To Undergo 16weeks of real training in popular hotels to get hands-on skills”

Students are made to undergo 16 weeks of actual training in popular hotels to get hands-on skills while working. Hotels like Falaknuma Palace hotel, Grand kakatiya, Green Park, Novotel and other hotel resorts help them to attain necessary skills.

Students will get employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, software companies, hospitals and real estate offices. Our students are working in Care Hospitals, KIMS Hospitals and Rainbow Hospital. They are working in airports in addition to normal hotels and restaurants.
