What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“To be there for the students for their support in academics and career counseling”

 It is important to understand the psychology of the student so that one can be given appropriate guidance. Students have been told about the importance of their course. BCA, B.Sc IT & M.Sc IT being professional courses, it is important to give them core knowledge about their respective subjects and make them aware about the current demand of their course in the corporate sectors as well as in other relatable fields.

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty? 

“Relation with students must neither be too liberal nor too harsh” 

A faculty needs to be patient and listen to a student’s outlook and correct him/her and appreciate it when required. A teacher-student relationship must have an exchange of ideas that makes it interesting for a student and increases their interest in the course they have opted for.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach?

“To make them industry ready and make them fully skilled”

Information Technology is one of the demanding courses and for its currently going applications for the society, students are to be taught about the practical implementation of their subjects. Making them aware of the different software that is used in corporate industries and enhancing their coding skills by teaching them enough programs (in a programming language), making them aware of the working scenario, different roles, and responsibilities regarding their field.

What are the best practices offered by the department to the students?

“Students are advised to focus on communication and technical skills”

By providing them effective notes to grasp detailed knowledge of the topics covered in a subject, tutorials for practical implementation, and time-to-time analysis by taking tests, presentations, group discussions, and assignments. 

How do you strategize the curriculum and how often it gets updated? 

“Completion of the curriculum on time with efficient teaching is crucial”

The smooth functioning of work gives time for other important tasks like random tests/quiz, doubt sessions, and detailed explanations on important topics. Periodic revision makes it efficient for students who somehow get absent or don’t get the topic properly.

How does your department prepare students for higher education?

“We guide them to choose the best institution for them”

Students seem very much attentive to the placements, they are advised to confront the interview to overcome their hesitation as well as to get better opportunities. Students planning their higher studies are guided about what all options are available to them and how it is going to be beneficial for them.
