With nearly 15 years of teaching experience, her specialization areas include Economics, Statistics & Research Methodology, Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. Having qualified UGC NET in Economics, she has participated in several Seminars, Workshops and FDP’s at national level.

What do you think are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Deliver quality education and inculcate relevant skills”

My primary responsibility is to ensure that the students understand the concepts that are taught to them. Not only this, the students are also taught to learn other skills as well, and encouraged for participation in various activities and skill enhancement sessions that will lead to suitable careers for them. Teaching is done in a manner that the students are able to understand and learn in an effective way. 


How do you try to bring a practical approach towards subjects? 

“Practical pedagogy with more industrial exposure”

Students are prepared to carry out various related case studies and reports to give them a boost from the real industrial world. Besides, study tours are also organized where they get to know and update their knowledge about the latest developments happening in the practical world. Several expert talks, group discussions, quiz, presentations are the activities that help students to equip skills and practicality for better solutions to real life challenges. 


How do you strategize the curriculum to make it befitting for the students? 

“Up grading in alignment with and organizing training”

The curriculum is updated from time to time keeping in mind the current trends in teaching. As the HOD, I divide the curriculum in units and small topics and teach accordingly so that the students understand it easily. The department organizes various training programs such as seminars, workshops for the students which help them to enhance skills. The student also attends guest lectures by experts and study tours are organized to equip them with necessary skills.

How does your department prepare students for Higher education?

“Involvement in various activities to develop skills”

The students are encouraged to study and attend the classes on a regular basis with more zeal to learn through innovative learning pedagogies implied. They are encouraged to go for additional courses related to their field so that they can develop required skills to face the competition. The training and development cell organizes placement drives for the students within and outside the campus as well. Pre placement talks, expert sessions, mock interviews are also held to encourage and prepare the students for participation and increase their chances of selection. The students are also given guidance on higher education and career prospects after graduation so that they can opt for suitable courses. 


How does the department enhance the skills of the faculty?

“Training and communication on a regular basis”

The department organizes workshops and seminars for the faculty to train them according to set curriculum and course structure. We also make them attend guest lectures by experts and industrialists to make them aware of the latest developments and prepare them well to deliver knowledge to students. I, myself, frequently interact and communicate with faculty members to help them in resolving issues and create a learning environment within the campus.

Any suggestions you would like to give to current youth?

“Transform your vigour into positive results”

Youths need to turn their potential energies into positive outcomes that prove to be beneficial for them as well the whole nation. I would advise them to have a clear mindset for their goals and should focus on the pathway.
