Mr. Ranjeet Ramesh Pawar is currently working as HOD Information Technology at BVIT, Mumbai. He has 18 years of teaching and academic experience, and has been prominent in guiding and mentoring students for a successful endeavor in life. Also, Mr. Pawar has published 08 International papers, and has attended many seminars and conferences worldwide.
What are your roles and responsibilities being the HOD of the department?
“Monitoring the academic progress of the department”
My prime responsibility is to make sure that course curriculum and design is prepared timely and implemented as per MSBTE Scheme. I collect lesson plans, organize and schedule them accordingly with the help of my teaching staff. Also, I route all the correspondence through the office of the principal, and monitor performance and feedback of students and faculties in the department. I ensure academic discipline in the department as well and convey departmental meetings for the same. Providing necessary inputs to the principal for conducting Academic Council and Governing Council Meetings, and interacting with students, identifying the problems and finding solutions in consultation with the principal are my roles.

Along with regular classes and training students practically, we have a well defined course structure that helps students gain all the necessary skills. We have started the soft skill training program, personality development program, industrial training program, pre-placement training program, SAP Program for the students so that the students are well prepared by the time of placements.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards this course?
“Providing all round industrial training to the students”
Every year we have a minimum of 2 industrial visits planned for each student. Students perform experiments and prepare reports as well so that they get a fair idea about how the industry works. From these industrial visits, the students also develop skills in work ethics, communication, management and others. Expert & Guest Lectures with the industry experts as speakers are arranged for the students as well.
