What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Build confidence in all stakeholders by setting an example and inspiring them”

The post of Principal is very vital and critical for the progress of the college. A visionary management always invests into this and gets the right person in time. The Principal is the interface among the Management-Staff-Students and has to have very good rapport with all three. Principal should lead by example to inspire and build confidence in all stakeholders. Staff should look up to him as a mentor. Besides being good in academics, he should also have expertise in regulatory functions and should be a competent administrator.

What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your college?

“There is a system of continuous assessment in place for benefit of students”

Students who attend my college develop themselves holistically. The students become confident, knowledgeable and more positive as we give equal emphasis on soft skills as well as co-curricular and extracurricular activities. We organize around 35-40 webinars on relevant topics in a year. We conduct regular Unit tests every month to keep the students alert and attentive. There is a Continuous Assessment System followed. Students are also given responsibilities to organize events as well as TPO activities.

How does the curriculum of KKWCP ensure the best practice of industry?

Only college in University to have all e-content of theory and practicals, from First Year to Final Year, as per PCI syllabus”

The curriculum is based on the PCI syllabus, but we do incorporate sessions by counsellors on soft skills, as well as, expert technical lectures. We also cover a bit more than the prescribed syllabus content, which is relevant to industrial practices. (e.g. in a subject called Instrumental method of Analysis in Final year for IR spectroscopy- we do cover FTIR, its principle and instrumentation, even though it is not there in the syllabus. Today all instruments are FTIR). During the pandemic also we kept uninterrupted teaching-learning-assessment for the students and we are probably the only college in our University amongst 131+ affiliated pharmacy colleges to have all e-content-theory to practicals- of all the 4 years, as per PCI syllabus.

What has been your long-standing vision for the college?

“To attain student and industry-centric goals for a better learning habitat”

When we founded the college with me as Principal more than 4 years ago, I wanted the college to have strong foundations. This can only happen by building the basic practices such as SOPs, developing a core team, getting good academic results, making the Unit economically viable and sought after college by students. Now we are refining to more long-term development in terms of various criteria that are student, teacher and industry-centric. Also, to abide by the regulatory norms and build social outreach.
