What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

"The unlimited learning scope which we get here while teaching students has kept me associated"

I have been in the education sector for the last 16 years and during my Post-Graduation and PhD I came to know that there is a lot of scope in the Engineering field. And I also believe that being in the education sector, we stay connected with the youths and students of our society and this is the only sector which gives you limitless opportunities to improve others life by educating them and making them capable to compete confidently with outside world. And we can contribute directly to the growth of our nation by creating amazing technocrats, Engineers and human beings.

Being the Dean of Engineering at SAM Global University, what is your philosophy of leadership?

"True leadership is all about empowering others and utilizing their skills in best possible way"

I always motivate my students, faculty members and staff to keep themselves updated with the current trends, development and demands of the outside competitive world and corporate sector and learn latest technologies accordingly. Apart from this, we guide faculty members to attend seminars, conferences freely at their own will so that they can transfer the learned knowledge to students in the best possible way. So for me, leadership is all about empowering others and provide them best opportunities to grow while utilizing their skills to fulfill shared goals.

How do you build a connection between your institute courses and industry demands?

"We provide customized training programs to students in collaboration with industry professionals"

Our college has signed MoUs with more than 20 reputed core companies including Redhat, TCS and STL Tech. And we are offering the B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering in association with TCS and STL. And we have 2 separate courses in this stream including B.Tech AIDS (which we are offering in association with TCS) where lectures are taken by the experts of TCS and hands-on experiments are also conducted to strengthen students core concepts. Also, after completing this course, students are able to get direct placement in TCS. Another course which we are offering is of STL where we have designed the course curriculum after suggestions given by industry professionals. And 90% of the course classes are taken by the STL members only. And like TCS, after completing the second course, students will be able to get jobs in STL on an average package of 4-5 LPA and highest package of 8-9 LPA.

And as far as placement statistics of our college is concerned, so many of our students have been recruited for various job profiles by top class companies. Hence, we are focusing equally on software and core branches of Engineering with respect to placement.

What are some valuable insights of the programs that you are offering at your institute?

"We have established modern computer and core labs of Engineering with all facilities and software"

We have modernized laboratories in our college and all the latest software including CS software, MATLAB, PSIM and ETAM of respective courses have been installed in systems of particular labs. And our main objective behind establishing this kind of learning ecosystem is to make students capable of using those software to troubleshoot real time issues and how to be proficient in operating them.

How does the curriculum of your University ensure the best practices of industry?

"We design and redefine it after considering students needs and consulting with industry experts"

Being a university, we are free and independent to mold and design our syllabus as per our students' requirements and industry standards. And we have included many value based elective courses in 1st year so that students can relate things with their core subjects and learn more effectively. Apart from this, we have introduced many new extracurricular activities in our credit system to bring out the hidden talents of students and help them gain more credits.

How is your university more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

"We promote equality in our college and offer scholarships to meritorious and less privileged students"

We value and cherish the diversity of students which we have in our college and we offer 20-30% scholarships to students who secure 75% or above in their higher secondary level and 40-50% scholarships to reserved category candidates and to those who come from low economic backgrounds. This approach ensures that every student can afford to learn and grow without much hussle.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

"We should work to expand our presence all over country and improve our education system"

In my opinion, we should focus more on improving the academic policies and results of our college, improve placement statistics and research and development for the benefit of students and teachers. Along with this, we aspire to become the best university of not only Central India but the whole country as well.

When you first joined SAM Global University, what was your vision for it and how far have you come in implementing them?

"My vision was to improve students practical knowledge and focus more on slow learners"

I joined the university in 2020, and after some time I realized that there is an immense scope of research and experiment. And my aim at that time was to improve the academic results of students by focusing more on the weak students and slow learners. Hence we started preparing academic planner at the start of every semester so that we can teach our students in an effective way and implement the curriculum correctly. And after the end of semester, we thoroughly analyze this planner for any misconduct or faults, so that we can improve those mistakes next semester.

What are some biggest challenges you see for SAM Global University?

"Communication gap becomes as many of our students hails from different backgrounds"

We have a diverse range of students studying in our college and all of them have different educational backgrounds, so initially we face issues while interacting with them or understanding their issues or queries. Overall, all this creates a kind of communication gap between us. Along with this, ensuring good academic performance of students is also a challenge because many of them belong from areas where study is not a priority. But our team of dedicated mentors is working hard to inculcate required skills in students.
