Webinars

Webinars are organized on a weekly basis for students to learn from industry leaders. These interactions with industry veterans make it possible for the students to understand the real world of business and to get first hand information.

Value Added Programs

Apart from the university curriculum students are given value added programs to expand their knowledge, understanding and skills related to business. The value added programs were on the following topics:

  • Habits and Success: This is a 30 hour program that walks the students through two books – Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and 21 Day Countdown to Success. The course gives many exercises that are transformational in nature. They are also trained to write a gratitude journal along with other important aspects.
  • Management Forum: This is a weekly program of one hour throughout the two years where students present the current affairs in a creative entertainment model to their batch mates. There are quiz programs to test the current affairs during every Management Forum.
  • Business Plans: The Rural Entrepreneurship Development Club and Institution Entrepreneurship Development Cell together trains students to write business plans to be presented to the faculty panel and for presentation in competitive forums.
  • NGOs and CSR Studies: Students in their first semester work with NGOs and learn thoroughly about the CSR initiatives of various corporates through their own foundations and the NGOs. They also work for the NGOs supporting them in their fund raising, digital marketing and volunteering for various other purposes. This gives them a clear understanding of the needs of the society and how to approach the needs and problems in society with solutions. They have worked with Habitat For Humanity, OISCA-International, YWCA, CASA, etc.
  • UN SDGs and PRME: Focus on both UNSDGs and PRME is consistently provided through various programs so that students can understand the concept of “No one is left behind” and will implement it in their work places. Management Education has to be responsible giving students the need for the achievement of UN SDGs by 2030.
  • Communication Skill Development: The communication skills of students are improved with a specific session titled ‘News Analysis’. Under the mentorship of faculty members and under their supervision students analyse and present the news analysis to the class. News Analysis is from the perspective of the functional areas, subjects studied, people and institutions involved, decisions involved, ethical issues involved and UN SDGs achieved or worked towards. This enables students to connect every news item to the subjects they study and work on it as a case.
  • Content Writing and Student Ambassador Program: Students are encouraged to work as Student Ambassadors for corporates and as content writer, enabling them the corporate ci
  • Virtual Internship: Every semester students are assigned a virtual internship with Fortune 500 companies. The virtual internship enables students to study the company deeply connecting it to the various courses that they study for the KTU syllabus.
  • Mentoring:Students are mentored by faculty mentors and industry mentors. The mentors and mentees meet on a weekly basis to discuss the matters that can improve and transform students to be great leaders.
  • Placement: Placement at LMIMS is supported by XIME. With the wide industry connect of XIME placement is much easier for students who are willing to go the extra mile and are motivated to succeed. The placement of 2018-2019 has been encouraging with about 60 percent students placed with an average salary package of Rs.30,000/- per month. The batch 2019-2021 is in the final semester and their career prospects are brighter. Already three are having lucrative offers from Graameen, Allianz and Byju’s.
