How do you strategize about the key plans for the marketing and administration of your University?

“Providing Students with reliable facilities and experienced faculty members”

Being the registrar, which I feel is at the root of the administration it is very important to ensure reliability, i.e. how reliable the sources are. For example is our faculty reliable, if not then the students will suffer because every teacher cannot be reliable. In today’s scenario, with globalization and the corona pandemic, we need very reliable teachers with the best experience and expertise.

How does the curriculum of UIHMT ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Providing students with industrial sessions, training, and visits regularly”

The industry and any educational institution must not have any gap because ultimately the students who are studying in the colleges are going to work in the industry and start their careers. Being from the corporate sector myself, I have worked for almost 16 years in companies such as PepsiCo. While interviewing students for placements, I noticed that there is a wide gap between what qualities the company needs and what the colleges are teaching. There is a big mismatch but now we are trying to match it with the requirements of the industry,

what qualities are needed. It will be much better if the industries/companies visit the campus and train the students accordingly. Training regarding the products and marketing of the company is essential for students. The students these days are diverting more towards entrepreneurship due to these factors.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?

“Providing Students with Theoretical as well as Practical Knowledge”

The role is that as registrar how much experience do you have which is not only theoretical but also practical knowledge is important. At these key positions, one must always be ready for challenges and new learning experiences. The responsibilities are also equally important. If the role is unclear the responsibilities have no importance. My responsibilities today are to cater to the needs of the ongoing industry and make the students ready for the opportunities and challenges along the path.

What do you think should be the College’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“To develop College according to the global requirements”

In the next 10 years, as we see what is happening in the current society and at a pace that is growing exponentially it is unfair to consider only the Indian environment. In the upcoming years, there will be a huge global impact on the students here. We have to compete globally and our educational standards should be up to the mark. We are to develop ourselves according to global requirements. After 10 years, these classrooms will not be in the picture as exposure will be a key factor for students rather than classroom-based studying. The students will be in the first gear and the teachers will only be guides.

What are the opportunities available for the growth of students?

“Providing Students with best Internships and Placement Opportunities”

Seminars, conferences, brainstorming are some of the activities and techniques which are conducted for practical knowledge of students. Interactive sessions are conducted for the development of students and they gain more clarity regarding the courses. These are the basic things to be included in the curriculum to impart better knowledge and understanding. More importantly, the students should not be restricted to share their thoughts and be proactive in asking questions and doubts.

What do you see as UIHMT University’s greatest strengths?

“UIHMT is committed to ensuring the development of society”

The greatest strength of UIHMT is its commitment to society and its welfare. We at UIHMT have special governing bodies for the welfare of society. The public of Uttarakhand has faith in UIHMT. The college is continuously conducting anti-drug campaigns among the students and youth to make sure they do not fall into bad practices. UIHMT provides free education to orphans. Also, students from financially weak backgrounds are looked after as if they are denied education; it is an injustice to society. The institution believes that these practices benefit society and are the greatest strengths of UIHMT.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Students should inculcate reliability in all disciplines such as punctuality and their responsibilities”

In the present scenario, my suggestion to the students is that they are not the students of the old era, rather they are the young blood of the nation, and their thinking, vision, risk-taking capabilities are different and changed from the earlier times. They should inculcate reliability in all disciplines such as punctuality and their responsibilities. The future students must assure that there is no damage or misuse of the resources given by society.
