Dr. Sucheta Golhar is currently serving as the Principal at PES Modern College of Physiotherapy, Pune. With a clinical experience of over 29 years, she has published a number of research papers and review articles in several national and international journals. Besides, authoring two books in Germany, Dr. Sucheta has been felicitated with various national level awards for her outstanding work in academics and medical sciences including ‘Physio Ratan Award’ at 2nd International Conference of Physical Therapy at AIIMS 2013, Delhi.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students? 

“Better communication and guidance in every aspect”

As a Principal, my role and sole responsibility will always be my availability for the students whether formally or personally. I firmly try to communicate with my students and staff so that I can know their problems and be there to solve them out and guide them through. Also, I try to maintain a healthy, social and ethical environment in the institution to ensure better development of students.

What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

We wish to create a better learning environment that aid to develop, support, and sustain a high-quality, well prepared and collaborative education workforce. The vision is that all students are empowered to learn and achieve, to experience high quality teaching practices for best professional development. What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your college?

According to me, PES MCP provides one great path for a student who is on his journey to become a qualified professional in his career. PES provides a safe learning environment and good support to the students and staff along with positive relationships and maintains discipline to excel in life. Apart from that, the tuition fees are structured in the manner that is feasible to all and one can always obtain benefits from the government schemes that our college supports. How does the curriculum at PES MCP ensure the best practice of industry?

Our curriculum is best suited for students in the means of clinical hours, practical and theoretical hours. It gives a proper schedule to the student with a certain amount of strictness required to become a hardworking medical professional and save lives ahead. We often conduct seminars, workshops and webinars from medical and academic professionals to inculcate in them all the necessary skills with changing trends round the world. 

What is your philosophy of leadership? 

“Believing, Inspiring, Achieving”

Leadership is a dynamic and demanding responsibility with varied complexes to function for. I believe that a leader must inspire its team members and be able to develop healthy relationships so that they support in vision of your mission with full potential. I hope to continue being a good example in that and guide my students with whatever knowledge I can inculcate into them.

Learning is a lifelong process with no ending or boundations. You must continue to learn and gain knowledge with more passion and consistency in order to pursue what you want in life. Remember, wisdom is your greatest asset.
