Apart from this, teaching them important life skills, making them technically proficient and ethically strong, motivating them to stay disciplined and punctual also comes under the scope of my responsibilities.

How do you establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty of your college?

"By being a regular communicator, good listener and wishing them on their achievements"

I regularly interact with them through an open and respectful communication channel and never forget to appreciate them for their small successes and achievements to make sure things remain smooth between us. And whenever I talk to them, I listen to them very carefully and also encourage them to learn from their mistakes and make a bright future for themselves.

How do you introduce a practical and industry-oriented approach towards subjects?

"Students are taken for educational visits to give them an overview of what exactly is required from them in outside world"

In order to educate students beyond hard-coded curriculum and enhance their practical learning experience and exposure and lastly to strengthen their subject concepts, educational visits are organized from time to time.

How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?

"By thoroughly analyzing the needs of society people and then making changes in curriculum"

While designing and updating the curriculum of our college, we rigorously analyze the development, latest trends and requirements of society people because this research based approach gives us many insights about the changes we need to make our curriculum compliant with best educational practices and standards. And once the analysis phase is complete, inputs are taken from all stakeholders including students, teachers, society eminent people who are already working in this field, after this necessary changes are made to help students understand the practical application of a topic taught in the class.

And post successful completion of their PG courses, students can opt for lectureship. Lastly, students are open to work for social causes by joining NgOs and other helping hands of society.

How do you prepare your students to deal with today's cut-throat competitive world?

"By encouraging them to stay updated with latest trends and developments by reading popular magazines"

For the purpose of making my students ready for the outside competitive world, I regularly encourage them to practice reasoning numericals in their free time and also to read magazines like 'Pratiyogita Darpan" and "Competition Success Review'' in order to improve their general awareness about the latest happenings and technologies being used in the outside world. Because once they have sufficient knowledge of subjects, their competitive spirit will be improved.

Which extracurricular activities are organized in your college to enhance the skills of students?

"Sports events, cultural fests, NSS activities and sessions on Entrepreneurship are regularly conducted by us"

Our college understands the fact that along with academics co-curricular activities are equally important for students all around growth and development. Therefore, various clubs have been established by college including the Recreational Club, Literature Club, Photography Club, Entrepreneurship Club, Community Welfare Club and Eco Club with an objective to enhance students skills and give them a platform to present themselves as per their interest and passion. So events and activities like photography contests, Entrepreneurship Programs, environment campaigns are regularly held by us apart from NSS activities and sports games like Rugby, Chess, Kabaddi and Athletics etc.

Which challenges are you facing in uplifting the education quality of your department?

"Due to financial constraints, few of our students are unable to buy books, so teaching them without books becomes challenging"

There are quite a few challenges which I am facing in uplifting the education quality of my department. And the very first and most prominent issue is that approximately 50% of the girls who are pursuing our courses are from lower income groups who pay the fees in two installments and do not purchase textbooks due to financial issues, so it becomes very stressful sometimes on my part to make them understand the subject chapters and overall course content. And to fix this I provide my own notes and textbooks to those students so that they can compete with the remaining students of their class.

What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to teach students?

"Extra learning sessions and training programs are arranged by us for slow learners to help them compete with others"

As a Department Head, I try my level best to solve students' problems on time. And extra classes are organized too for the slow learners. In addition to this, I regularly interact with my students and encourage them to fearlessly share their academic and non-academic issues and queries with me because then only I will be able to handle things on time and can provide them with the best possible solutions and learning opportunities.
