How would you describe your leadership style?

“Transformative style leading to changes”

I believe in a blend of transformational leadership where the leader identifies and nurtures the individual’s strength to enable teamwork together, leading to growth and success of the individual and institution altogether. To simplify, it’s “You Succeed, I succeed”. The transformation leadership helps me to think collectively outside of one’s comfort zone with a strict timeline and ever-growing competitive challenges.

What would you like people to know about your institution they may not know?

“Prominent teaching pedagogies and service opportunities”

We really make a difference, not in the floor and the building but the eminent lectures, demonstrators and teachers, the free working scenarios and above all the work opportunities available. Since our college is associated with imparting and creating dental doctors, so the working opportunities act as a milestone for better skilled doctors. Our institution has best placement strategies and a thriving working scenario with the motto “the more you work, the more skilled you become.”

How do you guide your students to survive in such a competitive scenario?

“Guiding students and structural upgradation”

The CDEs and CMEs and certain hands-on programmes are inculcated from time to time to enhance the skill set of students and to make them handle emergency situations which are faced in day-to-day practice. I guide my students that it’s always better to learn from self-made mistakes and experiences, and do better continuously. I mentor them to implement the newer knowledge and skills coming our way through various skill enhancement workshops and practical sessions. We regularly upgrade curriculum keeping a pace with modern learning systems and current scenarios including world health issues.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your College?

“Clear communication and better networking”

I believe it’s important to build relationships and trust, developing positive culture amongst students, staff and all the stakeholders including the management at any organization. This is only possible through exercising clear communication on the lines of professional practice with shear vision. Today all of us live in a result-oriented environment which is not only challenging but requires internal and external networking.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education?

“High expenses of quality infrastructure”

In my opinion, a challenge in itself always acts as a driving force for any individual or an Institution as a whole. Information, integration and determination, for me, are the biggest challenges in dentistry. The biggest challenge for current higher education is still the cost to run the college. There are a lot of equipment that could help out to elevate the education system in India but the challenge needs to be understood in their high-end cost. Here it becomes difficult for any of the institutes to make their students more skilled and knowledgeable and at par to foreign systems.

Any suggestions you would like to give to aspiring students?

“Compete with yourself”

I believe that competition should always exist within you - “Me fighting me”. It must be your personal hunger to achieve higher levels that keep you moving forward and motivate you to achieve your goals each passing day. Remember, self-discipline and determination are the most important of all assets. Never let it down at any cost.
