How do you strategize the key plans for the marketing of your college?
“Connecting on Social Media is an ingenious way to market”
As the social network’s tagline makes clear, the social media sites are all about connections. A professional Facebook page for a dental school allows one to frequently contact your audience and remind them of your presence. Posting about admission deadlines, news, and other noteworthy items like alumni stories will help ensure followers and potential clients keep you in mind. It’s also an ideal forum for blog posts—useful and interesting links of your college’s posts can be shared and passed around, providing virtual word-of-mouth Via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social networks like LinkedIn providing additional opportunities to connect and share with your audience. Therefore marketing strategies help in showcasing unmatched teaching skills through experts in the field of healthcare, and successful outcomes.
How does the curriculum of your College ensure the best practice of industry?
“Emphasis on capabilities with values ensuring best practice”
We need to develop first the capabilities for which Problem Based Learning is the best tool to learn. A problem is posed to a group of students and its diagnosis and treatment is invited. The students are made to think based on their theoretical and clinical knowledge to arrive at a probable solution. This practice gives the students the capabilities of thinking and analysing various types of cases in an analytical manner. At the time of giving introduction to every subject, initial classes are allotted for teaching ethics. The curriculum provides innovations such as field exposure through camps, school health programs, health workers training programs etc. The PG students have an orientation program at the beginning of their course which includes the basic instructions in research methodology, biostatistics and clinical research. Along with the skill development, the institution gives priority in inculcating values among the students. Appropriate values commensurate with social, economic and cultural realities are focussed to inculcate respect and tolerance to various diversities. Universal values like truth, righteousness, cooperation and mutual understanding are emphasized and practiced to bear a lifelong impression.
What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the college and the students are?
“Maintain effective educational programs, teaching and learning process”
Idea is to develop and maintain effective educational programs within college and to promote the improvement of teaching and learning in college so that it creates such an organization and climate which fosters student and teacher growth. I continually endeavour to improve the operating effectiveness of the college. I usually keep informed of current practices and techniques relating to college programs, teaching and administration by attending various conferences, professional development CDEs and by reading professional materials. I co-ordinate and foster development of programs within the college to best meet the needs and interests of the students. This includes the establishment, supervision and evaluation of special education programs where a student needs one. I also assist the teaching faculty in the development, implementation, modifications and selection of curriculum materials, and keep the respective in-charge updated on any modifications or substitution of approved courses. I develop and foster a sense of pride and respect for college property so that the facility is an attractive place and ensure that all responsible precautions are taken to safeguard the health and general well-being of my staff and students of college.

What do you think should be the College’s top priority over the next 10 years?
“Functional and social dimensions of oral health, work at par international standards”
Organizing various health care camps in under-served neighbourhoods helped me realize the importance of access to care and how it can affect people’s health. Rural dental camps play a significant role to enhance awareness level as well as health practices to improve the oral hygiene and general health conditions of rural communities. Such rural camps could affect both functional and social dimensions of oral health, possibly through a psychosocial pathway. I believe that college top priority is also tie-ups with various foreign universities for dental implant courses and maxillofacial courses etc. so that we can have the impact of our technical work according to international standards.
What are the opportunities available for the growth of students at your college?
“Thorough clinical and theoretical knowledge”
We have always focussed on the academic front and for that I keep conducting various quiz competitions and include MCQ questions in professional papers. Such events keep them updated with the new trends in our field. Various opportunities are available as we keep on conducting conferences, CDEs and various other events. Due to these events many students are able to participate and share their knowledge and come forward. With these kinds of exposure our students are placed at a different level from the crowd of other students. They get more confident to present themselves in other fields also.
How is your college more welcoming to students of diverse backgrounds?
“Providing comforting space and hosting cultural events”
Diversity can refer to respect for varied points of view; openness to new ideas, cultures, religions, and traditions; or the lack of homogeneity. Finding a truly diverse campus with an open climate can be a significant component of the postsecondary experience. Because college is a time of personal and intellectual engagement, diverse campuses also challenge students to understand why they hold certain assumptions or beliefs and help them develop frameworks for seeing the world. We have also made an International Student Associations in the campus as these groups bring together students from across the globe hosting social events and providing international students with resources and helpful tips on various fields. Aside from providing a comforting space for students far away from their families, these groups also host cultural events to share different parts of the world with the entire campus community.
How has your vision for the college evolved over time?
“Deliver Excellent Academic Outcomes along with focussing on Beyond Traditional Learning”
Our students achieve a pass rate of 99% with almost 80% above average. With these excellent academic outcomes, the majority of our students get jobs in the government sector, and get preferred in any field where they apply. I have also included an Innovative method of teaching - Real-World Teaching through Denture Camp in Remote Areas. This kind of teaching methodology is different from individual practice in the same field. So, students completely were in a different environment away from their comfort zone showing their real working ability. Another characteristic of such teaching methodology that students have learnt to work as a team. I also observed that such methodology has taught students how efficiently they can handle large groups of people at one time. Such teaching tools also taught students to assemble manpower, finance, materials, equipment’s, instruments, coordination and a generous mind set.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the students?
“Achieving the goals requires efforts and hard work- No short-cuts”
I would like to say to my current youth and aspiring students that we should continue to struggle to achieve success and a good career. Life is not easy; there is no short-cut to success. Achieving the goals requires effort and hard work, even if we do not enjoy doing work. You do not have to be a talented person to study hard or work hard; the talent is a direct result for hard work. Remember ‘No Pain, No Gain, No Pressure, No Diamond’. Just try to focus on your study or work, try harder, and definitely you will achieve good results. It is not enough to know the guidelines of success, it is also necessary to know the risks of failure so that we can identify the risks and avoid the failures.

How do you tend to establish a healthy environment in your college?
“Celebrate Wins and Learn from Losses with positive attitude”
My mantra of establishing a healthy relationship and environment in college is celebrating with my team when they win or when they accomplish something. And also at the same time use the losses as learning moments for my team. Teach them what they can learn from what went wrong and how they can turn that into a win in the future. I believe that nobody likes a negative attitude so when it comes to my college students, faculty, staff I do not let any negative emotions of my team members affect the work in the college and I always encourage a positive environment in the college. If anyone in the college has an issue with something going on in college, I make sure that they get clear channels of communications in which they can voice their concerns. The sooner an issue can be addressed, the sooner a positive environment can be restored.
