How does the curriculum of J C College of Law ensure the best practice of industry?

“We bring in the best industry practices for the students”

Our College is affiliated with Nagarjuna University, and the curriculum is very well designed. Since it is a traditional law college, there is no liberty to design or change the curriculum like various institutes. The University conducts the examinations. The curriculum is developed by the University’s Board, which includes Judges, Advocates. In the last few years, the law teachers have played a vital role in designing the curriculum.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the J C College of Law and the students are?

“Our prime focus is to uplift the learning processes for the students”

Our role is mainly focused on the betterment of students by educating them with the best practices and encouraging them to participate in the competitions to gain practical aspects. But, yes, we give more priority to the classwork, and teaching is our prime concern. The five-year course students are regular students who take significant responsibilities for competitions and activities. The three-year course has a mix of people who have already gained specific past experiences and have gone to traditional practices in the court, corporate jobs, etc.

What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“We want to strengthen our various verticals of education”

Our goal is to strengthen the classroom teaching in the next ten years and to focus on different competitions. Being in the center of the city, the institution has limited accommodation, and hence we would not start LLM courses, but we will give more attention to the LLB courses.

“The students take part in various National level competitions conducted in different cities. We organized our first National level Moot court competition in February 2020, in which 32 teams from 11 states participated.”

What would you like people to know about your Institute they may not know?

“We make sure to groom the students for the industry”

Our institute mainly gets local admission from the Guntur district and a few students from other neighboring districts. Here, our college is very renowned and the seats every year are filled by them, and there is no problem with admissions.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“There are a plethora of opportunities in the law segment in future”

I would like to suggest that unlike other courses, the law has several opportunities as Judge, Advocate, Prosecutor, etc. There is a lot of scope for a promising career. Exceptionally, for a fair and hard-working student, a law course can be one of the best choices. Compared to other courses like engineering and medical courses and event management, the amount spent on education in the law course is minimal. In colleges like J C College, we have a very nominal fee. With a little investment, if a student concentrates and shows commitment, they can perform exceptionally well.
