Delhi University has decided to delay the examination for the final year students pursuing UG and PG in the view of COVID-19 outbreak. This decision is now being highly protested by the teachers and students as well.
Earlier Delhi University announced to schedule the exams during July 1-15, as per UGC advisory guidelines. Besides this, a new Date Sheet was uploaded on their official website but in vain.
Thereafter, this matter was also brought up in a meeting held by the UGC Committee and then finally decided to cancel out the exams and to promote the candidates on the basis of their previous results and internal assessment. This decision was made on June 24, as per the revision of UGC guidelines.

But this decision was not accepted by DU and then they issued their own new guidelines wherein, the exams got delayed to July 10.
Now, as per the latest guidelines, the exams are again delayed up to August 15 due to Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, professors of the varsity on Wednesday demanded scraping of the exams, asking not to increase the stress and anxiety of the candidates.
This is for the second time that the exams have been delayed. Such kind of delay will just complicate the situation and put the future of students at stake.
The only solution to this problem is the cancellation of the exams rather than delaying them any further. Moreover, as the COVID cases are rising day by day to a large extent wherein, this situation does not seem to be controlled till August 15.
